Teenage Dirtbag

A Trip To The Hospital And October

***Before Bob called Frank and told him what happened***

It has been about thirty or so minutes from when Mikey, Gerard, and Frank dropped October and Bob off at Frank's small home. Bob asked his niece, "Hey Toby, would you like me to make us some ice, cold water? Just the way you like it?" She nodded her head and continued to jump around the grass and cement.

October was trying to hop over the small patches of light, green grass. Bob warned October, "Okay Toby, but stay on by the porch. You can still play on the grass by the porch, but I don't want you too far away or the cement. You could get really hurt on it... Okay?"

"Okay Unkey Bobby, I promise." She replied to her uncle and she listened when Bob first went inside the house. October did promise to stay off of the cement for her safety and for her uncle too. Little did Bob knew, she was lying! She continued to hop around and count the hundreds on cracks in the huge pathway.

October only knew how to count up to ten so far, so she didn't count much. Sighing, she mumbled. "Play time for me." She giggled and then ran around as fast as her little legs could carry her. At first, she was only running a few feet in length.

Then, she started to get braver and venture out in front of neighbors' pathways. Bob, who was still inside making ice cold water for his niece and himself didn't know how far October had actually run to. One block, and for October, that was a long way.

She continued to run more and more, faster and faster until she finally tripped on a deep crack. She fell face first into the hard, dry cement. Fortunately, October braced for her fall to the ground by putting her arms in front of her face. She did protect most of her face with that quick decision, but she felt her right arm was hurting badly.

Then, she felt something being cracked inside of her, all of a sudden her arm started to sting and hurt October even more. "Ow!" She started to cry and call for her Uncle Bob, "Unkey Bob! Unkey, please come here.." October's first instinct was to try to hold her arm, while laying down though. She didn't know how far away she was from her house.. She must have only been a block or two away from her home.

While October was outside, crying, Bob split a gigantic amount of water trying to hurry, to get back to watching October. He thought that October would listen to him and stay off of the cement, for her safety. So, he didn't bother to look through the kitchen window, to check on October. He then finished cleaning up the water, finally grabbed the two full cups to take out to his niece. When he eventually got outside, his niece wasn't nowhere to be found!

"October! Where are you?" He called out to her, but in the distance, he heard soft and shrill cries for help. He let the cups fall to the ground, luckily, the cups were cheap and not glass. 'Oh my god, oh my god! Where the fuck is she!'

Bob's mind was screaming at himself for being inside so long. "October!!" He called, louder this time. Soon enough, the shrill cries were getting louder and louder. Seeming like he was getting closer, which he was. "Fuck.."

He hissed under his breath. "October?!? Oh my god! Toby, I'm so sorry!" He finally found a girl, face first on the ground. He helped the girl sit up, helping her to control her breathing. "October... Let me see, I can help.." Bob whispered to October, she clutched her arm even more. She tried to get some relief, which only clutching her arm made it worse, in her case. "Toby, hold still... Let me see, I promise I won't touch it.."

She finally let Bob have a closer look at her arm, October wailed on. Her eyes starting to get red and very puffy. Bob made a quick decision to pick October up, carry her, and quickly walk home. He didn't want to run, because he thought that it'd shake her arm and hurt October even more.

'Shit, I have to call Frank. Wait! If Toby's arm is really broken, she should get the the E.R.' Bob's mind was over thinking about what would have or what might happen. Finally after his mind was done over thinking, he was inside his house laying October down to try to calm her some more, and he got his cell phone to call 911.

"Um, hello. My name is Bob Bryar... Yes, I live on Chem Street, my house is 2001.. Yeah, I will.. I think she may have a broken bone in her right arm. She's only four..." I hung up as soon as we finished talking. The women's voice said that the paramedic should be here in less than five minutes, Frank, October, and Bob didn't live too far away from they're town's hospital.

Another minute of talking to October, telling her it's going to be okay and stuff like that, the paramedics were finally here. A man and women, telling me that I could come but only Bob, they thought there was other relatives in the house. Bob already had his cell phone in his pocket before they left, so that he could call Frank later.

Everything happened in a blur after that, Bob remembered that while one of the paramedics were driving, while the other was trying to help October.

The women wrapped a small cast around October by the time we pulled up to the hospital, the cast was only to last for about a hour or so.

About ten minutes later, Bob was awaiting anxiously for some news. Since there wasn't anybody else in the waiting room, he decided to call Frank.. And to force the truth out, Frank needed to know. But Frank would kill Bob for letting her out of his sight! It was the right thing to do, of course.

He grabbed his cell phone out of his pocket, dialing Frank's number... Bob waited about thirty seconds until Frank picked up his phone..

"Frank? Yeah, it's me.. Uh, I have some news.. It's not very good though.. I sort of.." Bob hesitated for a moment, before Frank told Bob to tell him what is up. "October is hurt.. She's in a room with doctors right now, they haven't told me anything yet.. But I think that her arm is broken, I didn't mean to Frank.. She just, I did-"

Bob was cut off by a freaking out Frank. He told Bob that he'll be to the hospital in very quick. With that, Frank hung up, leaving Bob nervous to what Frank will say about having his daughter hurt.

Frank couldn't do too much, he was pretty short and cute. '

The worst he could do is just not let me watch October anymore, I mean he is forgiving and all, it's just it's his daughter this time..' Bob was thinking way too much by now, he didn't even realize that a male doctor came in to tell him some interesting news.
