First and Last
Meet & Greet
The curtains closed after the song “I Don’t Love You” ended. As fans left to take bathroom breaks and talk, the security guard from earlier came over to where Blue and Melissa stood.
“What do you girls think so far?” he asked
“I’m loving every moment of it!” Blue squealed, hardly able to contain her excitement.
“I’m guessing you are a huge fan then.”
“Oh, she is,” Melissa nudged Blue, “in fact, I wanted to come with her and see why she loved them so much. Now, I know.”
The guard smiled, “Well, if you girls are ready, I can take you on that tour you earned.”
“Oh yes!” both of them nodded. The guard indicated they follow him and he led them to the back stage area.

“And here,” the guard said opening the door, “Is where the bands that are featured here usually hides out.”
Blue looked around. Clothing, bags, and make-up lay around the room in random piles. An ash tray of smoked cigarettes sat in the center of a small round table in the center of the room. Magazines, bottles of water, and a pack of more cigarettes also had been scattered across the smooth surface.
“Don’t mind the mess,” a cheeky voice called from the doorway that was most definitely not the guard, “We tend to get a little messy sometimes.”
Blue practically shook when a man with short dark hair poked his head in the doorway. A push, and he tumbled forward as another man with dark blond hair and beard laughed.
Blue and Missy watched as three more men entered the room followed closely by two more security guards.
The first one was taller than the first two men with brown squarish glasses that perched on the end of his nose, which he kept pushing up with his finger, and dark brown hair that hung straight, framing his face. A grey knitted beanie was pulled over his brown locks.
The second one had thick brown curly hair that stood out like an afro and light brown eyes.Under his black marching band jacket, he wore a black Led Zeppelin band t-shirt.
The third was the vocalist, Gerard Way.
Blue smiled at all five guys as all of them stood in awkward silence. Melissa bit her bottom lip before asking, “So… Blue, who is who again?”
Blue felt as if she could die of embarrassment as all the guys laughed. The first one, who had spoken and was leaning against the door, stepped forward and both girls noticed for the first time the amount of tattoos that covered her arms. He offered the tattoo cover arm to shake hands with first, “I’m Frank Iero.”
Melissa shook hands with Frank, then Blue shook.
“And these guys are Bob, Mikey, Ray, and Gerard.”
“I know the Way brothers,” Melissa smiled at Frank, “They look alike.”
The two brothers looked at each other as Ray snickered and Bob rolled his eyes.
“We don’t look that much alike,” Mikey insisted.
“Thank God too,” Gerard agreed, “Otherwise mom wouldn’t have been able to tell the fucking difference.”
Everyone laughed.
“Why don’t you girls sit down?” Bob offered, pulling the jackets off of a couch on the far wall.
Blue and Melissa sat down as Frank sat on one side of the couch and Gerard sat on the other.
“What are your names?”
“I’m Melissa Webster, or Missy as my friends call me. And this is my co-worker and good friend, Blue Pious.”
“That’s an interesting name,” Ray said, leaning against the wall, “Is it your real name?”
“It is, actually,” Blue answered, “My dad had an obsession with the color blue, and I have blue eyes like my mom’s, that’s why I’m called Blue.”
“Cool. I didn’t even know Blue could be a name.”
“Ray, it’s just like calling a girl ‘Autumn’ or ‘Summer,’ ‘June’s even a name,” Mikey groaned.
“Are you girls from around here, by any chance?” Frank interrupted.
“We’re actually from Oshkosh, Wisconsin,” Melissa said, “We work as tele-marketers and sometime travel around a lot.”
“Oshkosh?” Gerard looked at his band members, “that’s quite a drive from there isn’t it?”
“About three hours away, closer to four on a busy day,” Blue answered.
“Still pretty far,” Gerard said.
“I just came along for the ride,” Melissa admitted.
“So this is the first time you’ve heard our music?” Bob asked.
“Blue is the one who got the tickets from a friend; she just asked me to come along.”
Everyone turned to Blue, who sunk deeper into the couch, a blush running across her cheeks. She smile and admitted, “I became a fan after your music saved my life.”
“Seriously?” Ray asked, sitting on a chair, “What happened?”
As Blue related her tale, she noticed Gerard slowly stand and grab the pack of cigarettes from the table.
“Blue,” he began, “could you come outside with me for a minute, I need a smoke.”
Blue stood as a guard began to step forward.
“I don’t need any protection, Julius,” Gerard said, “I’m just going out back with a girl.”
As Blue followed Gerard outside, she heard the guys laugh and Melissa shout an audible, “WHAT?”
