Let Me Be The One To Save You

Gerard's P.O.V

It was beginning to get dark. I started to shiver as I climbed back down from the control room to where Venus was laid, shivering. I laid down next to her and pulled her into my arms.
"It's okay, baby." I told her. "Hopefully someone will have heard all that. I described the island like you suggested. I'll try to stay awake. You sleep."
"I've not got a choice." She said, dryly. "I keep passing out. In fact I feel light headed now."
I looked around. Then I got up and searched for a cover and pillow. I did manage to find both. Luckily the sea didn't steal them too. I took them back to Vee and lifted her head so I could slide the pillow under. Then I threw the thick cover over us both, hugging her again. She soon passes out again. I try to stay awake. But I only last about an hour. Then I fall asleep.

Venus P.O.V

I wake up again to shouting. I turn my head. Gerard is still asleep. The shouting sound's like our name's being called. I use what little energy I have to shake Gerard awake.
"What's wrong, baby?" He said, groggily.
"Shouting." I said, slipping into unconsciousness again.

Mikey's P.O.V

That afternoon. 4:22pm. Hospital.

I rush forward as the paramedics wheel a gurney with Venus on through the main doors. Gerard walks in behind them. He looks a bit battered and bruised but otherwise he looks unharmed. Thank god for that. I pull him into a hug, briefly. Then we follow the paramedics.
They push Venus into a operating theatre, asking us to wait outside. Gerard objects but they insist as a nurse leads him to be checked out by a doctor.

Gerard's P.O.V

The doctor gives me the all clear.
"You can wait in here for your wife, Mr Way." He tells me. "This is to be her room during her stay here."
I thank him and he leaves.
"She'll be okay, bruv." Mickey said as he sat down in the chair next to mine.
I sighed. "She kept passing out." I muttered. "The longest she stayed conscious was an hour. What could that be?"
"I don't know." He said quietly. "But she'll be okay."

Time Lapse>>>>>>>>>>

Two hours later.

I stared at my sleeping wife, holding her hand as the doctor spoke to me.
"There was a complication in surgery." He explained. "She kept passing out due to internal bleeding. We managed to get it under control though. So she will be okay. But during the crash, she received damage to her spine. It will heal over time. But until it does, she will not be able to walk. I'm sorry."
Tears stung the back of my eyes. She won't be able to walk? Oh god. I rested my cheek on our joined hand's.
"Thank you, doc." Mikey said as he rested a hand on my shoulder.
"I wish I could have had better news for you." The doctor said before he walked out.
"At least she's okay." Mikey said, quietly.
"I fucking hate hospitals." I muttered, closing my eye's.

Mikey's P.O.V

I watched as Gerard fell to sleep. I grabbed the blanket on the back of the chair he was on and draped it around his shoulders. Then I looked over at Venus. She looked so peaceful. She had a few scratches over her face and arms. But looked good otherwise. But I know from what the doctor said that she will have a permanent scar across her stomach. On the right side. About three inches long. Plus she's not going to be able to walk for a while. Life fucking sucks. But I promise I will be there for them both through all this.
