Gerard's P.O.V

I waited patiently. I still don't understand why she was scared of the police. I stroked her hair.
"I froze." She started again, pushing away from me and staring at thd door again. "I just couldn't move. Then I heard my sisters door open. So I looked towards the door. A man with blond hair was in the doorway. I saw something on the floor behind him. Then I noticed it was my sisters. Laying in their own blood. The man smirked at me and shouted, 'Hey guys. I found a toy for us.' I could see from his expression that he meant me. So I ran downstairs to find mum. She was sat on a kitchen chair. Her back was to me. So I ran to her. I put my hand on her shoulder. Her head dropped off onto the floor. I screamed. Then I was hit from behind. I blacked out." She was trying to not cry. But she was failing. Poor girl. What a horrific thing to have to go through. "When I woke up, I was on the spare couch in the basement. I heard some men talking about what they were going to do to me. The one that I remembered most was rape. They were going to pass me around." She shivered. "I opened my eyes slightly. They were huddled into a corner, backs to me. They were away from the stairs. I looked around and saw a body. My Dad. I knew I had to get out. So I bolted for the stairs. I made it out of the door and locked it. But there was another guy there. We struggled. He cut me up. I grabbed a vase off the table and hit him. He collapsed. I didn't have time to find the knife. So I grabbed the nearest thing. A bottle of vodka. Just incase they caught me. I ran...." She stopped. She was shaking badly now.
"Why didn't you go to the police?" I asked.
"I wasn't thinking. I was scared." She admitted. "I got to the graveyard and just sat down. When I realised that they weren't following me, I opened the bottle and drank some." She looked at me with eyes full of pain. "That's when you found me."
"Why would the police think you did it?" I asked.
"You hear about it all the time." She explained. "The whole family is murdered. One family member is missing. So they did it."
"Not always." I say. "I promise if you go to the police, I will be by your side. "
She shakes her head. "Please don't call the police." She hugs her legs and puts her forhead on her knees and closes her eyes, shaking and crying again.
I pull her into a hug. "Okay. Okay." I rub her back.
We stay like that until we both get tired. Then we lay down and fall to sleep.

I open my eyes and look over at Mysty. She's still asleep. I have to check something. So I get up and head to my laptop on the desk by the window. I sit on the chair, open the laptop and go on google search. News. Right, names. What were they again? Oh yeah. Britney age 10yrs, Jenny age 4yrs. Danny age 2. Murder. I click search. There's only one article that links those names:

FAMILY MURDERED DAUGHTER MISSING.

A horrific murder was committed in the early hours of
yesterday morning. A new Jersey
family were murdered in their own home. Mum Katrina
Parker, Dad Devon Carter, Daughters Britany Parker,
Jennifer Parker and son Daniel Parker were stabbed to death in the home.
Mum had been decapitated. A neighbour, who
saw the other daughter, Martina Parker, running from the
house in distress, called the
authorities. Upon enterance to the property, the police
discovered one man unconscious in
the entrance hall and three in the basement. The men
have all been charged.
The family were well loved in the community. The
residents have even been out searching for Martina as
they miss her.
