Hold On Tight and Don't Look Back

Frank’s P.O.V

It was 4:30 PM and that means it was about time to head over for our baby sitting request…well it was technically Gerard’s job but I kind of want to go; The only person there would be Claire and she’s 6 the worst she’ll have me do is watch frozen or play dress up, okay maybe that’s not the worst but it will be fun. Hopefully I’m allowed to, I mean they didn’t say I could tag along so I hope they don’t get mad when I show up at the door; me and Gerard said goodbye to Donna and that we’ll be back later…I’m not sure how long we’ll be gone, it depends on how long their date night is and got into the car.

“Let’s go babysit” Gerard said turning on the radio to a random station which turned out to be a good one because Godsmack came on and we both started jamming out; him tapping the steering wheel and lightly bobbing his head while me head banging making my hair fly everywhere. When the song stopped Gee looked over at me and laughed

“Nice hair” I stuck my tongue out at him and brushed it to the side

“Are you still mad at me for this morning?” I giggled actually curious; I had got him all worked up just to walk out of the room leaving him with nothing...Well leaving him with his right hand.

“Yes, you’ll pay for that” he smirked…I wonder what he was going to do?

“How?” I doubt he’ll give me a real answer

“You’ll see” He chuckled darkly, I eyed him suspiciously while he focused on the road; I then realized something….Well that popped into my head at random.

“Hey Gee?” I asked and he hummed flickering his eyes towards me telling me he was listening
“I was wondering if maybe sometime you could teach me how to drive?” I’m 18 and I do not know how to drive, my parents were never really there to teach me so I never learned

“Of course” he smiled showing his tiny teeth
“We can practice during the night at first, like empty parking lots, then carry on from there” he said already explaining what we we’re doing; I nodded and smiled. The thought of finally learning how to drive excited me; I watched as we pulled up to Jenny’s house that I remember from the birthday party and walked up to the front porch with Gerard next to me. He rang the doorbell and stepped back; it took a moment before you could hear someone unlocking it and then the door opening to reveal Matt

“Hey Gerard, oh hey Frank” he greeted

“Hope you don’t mind if I tagged along” I said with a small wave

“Not at all, Claire asked about you when we said Gerard was watching her anyway” He lightly chuckles and I smile
“Come on in” he says stepping aside; we walk in and to my amazement the house looks much bigger without so many people and children inside.

“Claire, Frank and Gerard are here” He shouts into the next room

“FRANK’S HERE?” we hear her voice shout loudly

“She doesn’t care about her cousin anymore” Gerard pretends to pout; all of a sudden the little bundle of energy comes running into the room and latching onto my legs

“I missed you Frank” she says and I can’t help but smile more I kneel down so I’m closer to her face

“I missed you too, how’ve been?” I question

“Okay, been playing with my toys, and going to school” She shrugs her shoulders; I stand up when Jenny comes out from the room and I wave

“Hey Frank, hey Gerard” she comes over and hugs us
“Thanks you guys for babysitting” she tells not giving one shit that I came here without being invited

“No problem, thanks for the free dinner” I said turning to Matt

“You’re welcome it wasn’t much…have a nice birthday?” he questioned and I nodded

“it was your birthday yesterday, but it was Halloween?” Claire budded in looking at me

“My birthday is on Halloween” I said proudly; I always loved that my birthday was on that day…so I would get presents and dress up to get free candy all night

“Lucky!” she grinned

“Okay so were going to go…” Jenny started

“Her bedtime is usually at nine but she can stay up to nine fifteen; there is thirty dollar on the kitchen counter to order pizza with the company’s number. No ice cream until after you eat…” she said giving Claire a playful stare as we nodded along to her words

“Our number is on the fridge if you need us and we should be back by 11 the latest, if that’s okay?” we both nodded not minding the time
“Wait it’s a school night for you guys anyway so-“

“No it’s fine you guys, go have fun…pretend a clock doesn’t exist” Gerard said and both of them laughed

“Okay so 11…Umm, I think that’s it like I said call if you need anything, oh help yourself to the fridge and TV movies are in the cupboard, no horror movies while she is awake please” She ended and we nodded again; they both turned to Claire

“Okay you be good for them okay?” Matt said hugging her then Jenny

“We’ll come in to say goodnight when we get back” She smiled and nodded

“Have fun you guys” they waved walking towards the door

“You too” we called back and when they left we turned to Claire

“So what do you want to do first?” I ask, she grabs my hand and drags me away; I end up in her room with the pink walls and Frozen toys. She runs to her closet and pulls out a boa…oh no…A tiara…oh dear… and a small box, here we go

“What are these for?”

“We are going to have a tea party!” she giggle opening the box to reveal plastic cups and teapot

“Yay!” I squeal…I’ve never had a tea party…I mean I was an only child and never had to many friends so play dates, sleepovers or anything that involved people I never really did, well I guess 18 years old isn’t a bad place to start; she handed by the boa and the tiara so I put them on and copied her sitting on the floor

“Aww you look cute” I look to the door to see Gee grinning like an idiot and I roll my eyes

Here is your tea Frank” she says pretending to pour some into the tea cup she gave me

“Thank you” I smile picking it up, I’m about to pretend drink some but she stops me

“Don’t forget to hold your pinky out all fancy!” I did as told and she smiled and held her cup out; we clinked the cups with our own sound effect ‘clink’ and ‘drank’ the tea. I hear a snapshot go off and I look back to Gerard who has his phone out taking a picture; I roll my eyes and turn back to Claire who is pouring more tea

“So how Is school?” I decide to ask

“It’s really fun we’re counting and spelling then we have free time so I usually play with the blocks…” she stops for a minute before furrowing her eyebrows
“But this one kid Mitchell keeps knocking them down, I don’t like him” she adds

“You know, when boys are mean to you that means they actually like you” Gerard says coming over and sitting down with us; her eyes go wide and she shakes her head

“NO. He has cooties! She yells and we both laugh; I look to the princess alarm clock she had in her room and it was only 5:07 PM, we still have a while to go...

I as thinking on making a part on and two but, come on....Do you really want two chapters just on babysitting?
