I Still Think You're Beautiful

"Gerard" Frank whispers in my ear and pokes my nose, "Wake the fuck up. Your phone is fucking vibrating and it's annoying as hell." He pokes me again until I open my eyes and groan, "Ugh what time is it?" I ask. "2:33" He answers and turns over on his side, "Now answer your god damn phone." "Okay okay" I sigh and kiss his temple before reaching for my phone which is vibrating like crazy. My phone is blown up with texts from Lindsey, Mikey, and Pete, which is unusual. One text from Lindsey tells me to call her so I do, I press the phone against my ear and kiss Franks head one more time, I then proceed to wait for Lindsey to answer as I run up the stairs into the kitchen so I don't bother Frank anymore. "Hello?" Lindsey finally says. Her voice is strained and broken and i can tell she's been crying a lot. "Hey" I say softly and lean against the kitchen counter, "Is everything okay?" She goes silent and doesn't answer for s split second, then she burst into complete sobs. "Oh god" I whisper, "What happened?" My hands start to shake a little and she answers after a few minutes of sobbing, "Jared" Lindsey sniffs, "Gerard...h-he's...he's gone." "Well...where did he go?" I ask, praying that she's not saying what I think she is. "No Gerard, not like that." She chokes out, "He's gone...as in dead." "Oh my god..." I stutter, my heart twists in pain and I want to cry so badly, but the tears won't come out. Lindsey takes a deep breathe, "He died in the hospital an hour ago...he slit his wrists, Gee." "No. No no no" I tell her as my voice shakes and I'm on the edge of tears, "This is all dream. A bad dream." "Gerard...this is real." Lindsey whispers, "I promise. I...I'll let you go now. Mikey's here with me...just so you know. He's with Pete too...he's safe." We say our goodbyes and after she hangs up, I throw my phone at the wall, holding back the huge scream that wants to escape my mouth. My back slides down the counter and I pull my knees into my chest and just let myself cry, my heart actually hurts, like in physical pain. I caused this, If I hadn't pushed him over the edge and acted like he didn't exist for 7 months then he would still be here. I hide my face in my hands and sob, I sob harder then I ever have before until I'm gasping for breathe and my whole fucking body is shaking and I feel like I'm a bout to pass out. I seriously am about to close my eyes and just give up until two arms wrap around my neck and a head rests on my right shoulder, I remove my hands from my face and open my eyes to see Frankie staring at me, tears rushing down his face too. "D-did you h-hear that?" I ask with a loud sob. He nods and pulls me into him, my head resting against his chest as his hand strokes my hair, "Shh, it's okay baby" He whispers and kiss my forehead. I sniff and continue to cry, "How...how did you deal with this pain?" "What do you mean my love?" "When...when Iris died." I mumble and he holds me a little tighter. "You helped me get through it Gerard...you saved me and got me helped me through the pain." Frank answers me and still strokes back my hair, "Now I'll help you get through this...I'll return the favor." "Thank you Frankie. I love you." "I love you too." He replies, "Now let's go back to bed and we can talk...okay?" "Okay" I say as he helps me up and head back toward the basement, my eyes feeling heavy as I'm on the brink of sleep
