But little did I know...

I lay in a bed of resistance
chained to either side
I really wish I could
reset, rewind

I sleepily got up and got my phone.
I didn't set any alarm... what the fuck? Oh, wait. It's a call... Derek?

"Before saying anything else, don't fucking hate me for this. Go outside the bus", he said.
"What?"
"C'mon, just do it."
"Okay, but how do you...?"

I opened the bus door, still wearing my pajamas.

"Surprise!"

And there were Derek, Ronnie, Andy and Matt.

"What? How? Where?" I said, really confused.
"Didn't I tell you? I joined a band. It's called Escape the Fate. It was all very sudden, maybe that's why I didn't tell you, or maybe I did but you weren't paying attention because your mind was wandering on Gerardland..." Ronnie said, smirking.
"Okay, it explains why you're here", I said, "but what about you guys? How come you're here?" I continued, looking at them.
"Do we tell him?" Matt asked.
"We're in a band since God knows when, but we were in a hiatus after our singer left", Derek explained. "But we got a new one, I think he'll be good friends with Mikey."
"What were you saying about m...? No, no, no, I don't play fucking drums! Look, Bob, he does play drums, talk to him!" Mikey said when he saw Sonny, pushing Bob towards the door. Sonny laughed.
"I know, man. And don't worry. At Risk is officially over. And I met these guys recently. Phil left so I'm replacing him", Sonny finally said.

"And how about you?" I asked Andy.
"Didn't he tell you? He is in a band called Black Veil Brides. We used to play shows together before our hiatus", Matt said.
"And where are Gerard and Ray?" Andy asked.
"Maybe they're still sleeping, you know them", Bob said, chuckling.
"Leave it all to me", Ronnie said, entering the bus. They all followed him.

Ronnie went to the fridge and took some cans of soda. He shaked them and approached the bunk area.

"Help me with this", he whispered to Matt, giving him a can. He pointed at Ray's bunk. "You know what to do. One, two, three."

"WHAT THE FUCK?!" Gerard and Ray screamed, at the same time, immediately getting up. We laughed.

And yeah... that's how the story began. Who would have guessed it? I met the love of my life thanks to a box full of stuff I bought just because and a pair of headphones... If there's something I've learned from this, and I want you to learn too, is you've gotta live your life as it comes. Expect the unexpected. And always, always, believe in yourself. Do you want more coffee? I've got plenty, and I think Gee will be... Oh, hi, Gee! This is Denis, our new neighbor. He's pretty cool, he reminds me of myself when I was 16. He dreams about joining a band and playing at Warped Tour. I'm gonna teach him how to play guitar and if you want to, you can give him singing lessons.

"Of course!" Gee said, smiling. "Okay, Denis... We're gonna visit a good friend of ours. He lives in New York City. Do you wanna come with us?"
