But little did I know...

"Wow, guys, it was amazing. Thank you for inviting me", Andy said, hugging each one of us. It was our first show out of New Jersey. Everything started changing in an awesome way. We were playing in a garage and suddenly we somehow ended up opening for Taking Back Sunday at Best Buy Theater. Gerard told me the opening band cancelled like five days before the show and they were looking for a band to take their spot. Ronnie knew immediately because his girlfriend worked at Best Buy Theater, so he and Gee went to the library and looked for a video of one of our rehearsals. Gee took like six USB drives out of his backpack. Some of them worked, some of them didn't. Some needed to be held by someone in a very specific position in order to be detected by the computer. At the end, they found a video of us playing "Skylines and Turnstiles" at the school talent show and they sent it.

"You might wonder why we're here...", Gerard said. We were locked inside a really small classroom, usually empty during mornings.
"Yeah, I wanna know what's more important than the sandwich I was gonna buy", Ray interrupted him.
"Well guys, I hope you can travel to New York City on Thursday and if you're not, you'd better cancel all you've planned to do that day because we're gonna open for Taking Back Sunday!"

Mikey looked at his cellphone. "It's not April Fools so it's true, isn't it, Gee? Isn't it?", he asked, really excited.
"Of course it's true!" Gerard replied. "Ronnie told me the band who was gonna open for them cancelled a few days ago so we sent a video of us and I received the good news today in Composition Workshop class!"

"Okay, fuck that sandwich. This is super rad", Ray said, getting up and highfiving all of us.
"So where are we gonna meet? What time?" I asked.
"I've been thinking it'd be convenient to pack our stuff today, you know, clothes for two or three days and obviously our instruments. Come over at 6 or 7 pm, we'll stay the night at my place and Andy will pick us up tomorrow morning."

That's what we did. We stayed at the Ways' home, we practiced a little bit, we looked for instructions on how to get to the venue, and a place to stay at. Luckily, Alicia's aunt told us we could stay at her home for the weekend and we would come back to Jersey on Sunday night. We told Andy to stay on the side of the stage and before playing our last song, "Our Lady of Sorrows", Gee asked him to come onstage and sing with us. Andy was clearly surprised, but he knew the song by heart, so it was all okay.

We spent the weekend exploring the city, and when we came to school on Monday, some of our classmates brought coffee cake to class to celebrate. Some of them even showed us the photos and videos they took of us during the show. It was amazing.

I'm back! <3

I'm sorry for not updating in almost a year, a lot of stuff happened, including a huge writer's block and another fic I'm working on. It's not here because it's not about MCR, but if you really really wanna read it, it's called "This Is Not Your Typical Sonny Moore Love Story" and you can find it at Wattpad.

Anyway, I spent several months planning the rest of the story and I ended up writing something completely different... as usual. But yeah, this one is better.
