Trick or Treat

Thriller

Gerard woke up with a stinging sensation around his nose and mouth. His vision was blurry at first, and all that met his sight for a moment was the glow of a candlelight, dim and golden.

As he sat up, he realized he was on a hard, wooden floor. The bat wings he wore made his back more uncomfortable than it should have been. The room wobbled around him as he tried to focus, everything slowly becoming sharper.

“Nick?” he asked, his voice raspy.

No one answered.

Yet a moment later, he realized he was not alone.

Three other people sat in the room with him. A man dressed as a mummy sat on a writing desk, peeling an apple with a small knife. Another person dressed as Slenderman was leaning against the opposite wall, staring at nothing. A figure crouched in a corner, dressed as Jason. He appeared to be typing something into a phone.

All their faces were covered. Not like he could see much with the dim lighting in the room – all that illuminated the place was a small oil lamp that hung on the wall behind him.

Gerard looked around, and could find no sign of his vampire boyfriend.

“He’s awake.” said Slenderman.

All three stared at him, and Jason rose up from where he crouched. He began to walk towards Gerard.

“Who…?” Gerard began.

Jason’s gloved hand grabbed him by his hair and yanked him upwards painfully. Gerard gasped, his heart suddenly racing again.

What was going on?

“Don’t move.” Jason spoke through his mask, and pulled out a dagger from his pocket.

It did not look like any Halloween prop.

Slenderman then left where he had been stationed. Jason walked around Gerard and held him from behind, but kept his dagger to Gerard’s neck. The initial shock of what was happening wore off Gerard, and he began to try and wriggle away from the hold.

“Let go of me!” Gerard squeaked, mentally cringing at how scared he sounded.

“Unfortunately for you, we can’t do that.” said Slenderman as he sauntered over, twirling his knife in his left hand.

“What do you want from me?” Gerard asked in barely a whisper. “Do you want money? I can give you money if you let me go…”

Slenderman shook his head.

“Oh no, sweetheart. We don’t need money….” Slenderman lifted his knife and seemed to be about to strike at Gerard, but when he lowered it, it only hit Gerard’s shirt. He dragged the knife down the cloth, ripping the shirt apart.

“…we need blood.”

The words sent a chill throughout him. The way the man had said it so casually made Gerard’s stomach tie up in knots.

Gerard only shook his head, and his whole being was trembling in fear. “Let go.” He squirmed again, pathetically.

“Didn’t he just tell you we can’t do that?” said the mummy on the writing desk, “We paid good money for our pig this year.”

“Pig?” Gerard asked.

“Yes. Pig equals you, my dear.” Slenderman explained as he did the same thing to Gerard’s shorts as he had his shirt. A sense of embarrassment washed over him at his own exposure, given the exception of his underwear and stockings.

“Very sorry about this, it’s nothing personal. Its something we do every year, you just happened to have the luck of the draw for this Halloween.”

“What is something you do every year?” Gerard ventured.

“Human sacrifice.” Jason had answered, as though someone had been asking what was for dinner tonight.

Now his stomach was really in knots.

A wave of dizziness hit him.

“I- I came with someone, where is he?!?” Gerard only now thought to ask.

“Who do you think choose you?” laughed the mummy, “He’s probably walking off to the bank, with the huge ass sum of cash we paid him.”

Given the situation, this really should have been the least of Gerard’s worries – but still, he couldn’t help but feel betrayed. A bit silly really, consider he had known the man for less than 72 hours… but he just had had such high hopes.

Story of his life, right?

He flinched as he felt his underwear come off.

He couldn’t decide if it was better or worse that they left the bat wings and the stockings.

“Let’s have some fun with him before we have to kill him!” suggested Jason from behind him. “He’s a cute one.”

“I know, I know. Calm your horses.” Said Slenderman, “I need to get another blade…”

It was then that Gerard noticed something hard was poking at one of his buttocks, and it wasn’t Jason’s knife. It was something that appeared to be protruding from Jason’s pants. Gerard put two and two together, and a blush crept into his cheeks.

“Yeah calm down,” the mummy snickered. “Its actually still pretty early in the night.”

“Alright then, he’s all stripped.” Slenderman declared. “I’m leaving the stockings. I feel they’re… a nice touch.”

Jason backed away, his knife lifting from his neck for just a second.

Now was his chance.

Gerard kicked backwards, trying to take Jason by surprised. He felt himself hit Jason’s shin clumsily, as his other leg tried to propel himself forward.

He tried not to focus on his fear as he attempted to run, only concentrating on getting himself out. But it was hard to know how far he was from the front door. He had no idea what part of the shack he was in, and he was still being hit with waves of vertigo. He suspected that they had used chloroform to knock him out earlier.

He was able to get his hand on the doorknob of the only door in the room and turn it slightly, but his great escape only went that far. Hands grabbed him by the waist and yanked him back, then spun him around and pushed him to the floor.

He hit the ground again, landing on his elbow.

Someone kicked him over, so he was lying on his back.

The three men stood over him. He could not see any of their expressions, but he got the unsettling feeling the mummy was smiling.

“Bad piggy.” Jason taunted.

Slenderman stomped on his stomach suddenly, and Gerard screamed. His hands cradled his belly, but the mummy knelt down and pried his hands apart, leaving an opening for Slenderman to target. Slenderman proceeded to stomp on Gerard, ramming his stomach with a less than soft dress shoe four or five times.

Gerard gritted his teeth, tears welling up in his eyes. Jason must have seen the wetness trying to spill from Gerard’s sockets, and he knelt down next to Gerard’s head.

He ran his hand over his face, wiping the moisture of tears and sweat away. Slenderman stomped on Gerard’s stomach again, and Gerard let out another scream.

“Don’t struggle, little one.” Jason said to Gerard in a low murmur. “It won’t do you any good. If you want this night to go as less painfully as possible… just don’t struggle.”

Slenderman stopped his attack then, retracting his leg to stand next his other leg. Gerard’s stomach was throbbing, his sides shrieking from pain. He let out an involuntary moan.

“Are you going to behave now?” Jason asked, in a much louder tone.

Gerard stared at him for a moment, his eyes narrowed.

And then Gerard spat in his face.
