Gerard's POV
I looked at her laughing and I had to smile. She was beautiful. We sat in our car on the way to the doctor appointment. My wife Lindsey was pregnant with out first child and today was the last time we'll check on the baby before we reached the due date. It was in two days and we were both super excited. We already had names for our baby even if we didn't knew the gender yet.
We wanted it to be a surprise. If it would be a boy we'd call him Lucas and if it'd be a girl she would be named either Emily or Bandit. We're weren't sure about that. I liked Emily but Lindsey liked Bandit better so we would decide whether she looked more like Emily or Bandit when she was born.
I was driving but Lindsey was holding my hand which was on the gear shift and I squeezed it lightly. She smiled and kissed me on the cheek while I was concentrating on driving. I was as happy as I ever could be. We would be a little family soon.
I imagined us sitting under the Christmas tree or me playing princess with my little girl, playing ball with my little boy being watched by Lindsey who would smile at us. I imagined us singing our baby to sleep.
The beautiful imagine burst within less than a second. A fulmination clanged through the air. Tires squeaked. I was catapulted in the fore just to be pressed into my seat a moment later. Lindsey screamed and I tried to look at her but I couldn't. My vision went black.
I woke up in an ambulance. I searched for Lindsey and began to panic. Where was she? Did she die? Was she ok? What was about the baby?
A paramedic saw that I was awake and tried to calm me down. I didn't understand what he said. I couldn't stop thinking about Lindsey.
I felt a sharp pain in my arm and my extremities went numb, I lost consciousness again.
The next time I opened my eyes I was in a hospital. It smelled like germicide.
My arm was connected with a drip and a clear fluid flowed in my body. I couldn't really think. There was some kind of fog in my brain which prevented me from remembering why I was here.
I looked around and saw the ring on my left hand. Lindsey!
I tried to call her name but my throat was too sore. The try made me cough.
A nurse came in and ask me how I was but I didn't bother answering.
“Lindsey” I gasped out and started to cough again.
The nurses expression changed into sad. Instead of answering she pressed a few buttons on the machine I was connected to and I fell into an uneasy sleep again.
