Started With High School

"Well Frank... I.... I kinda... I like you..." I say awkwardly, fidgeting slightly.
"You do?" Frank said, a small smile appearing on his face.
"Yeah." I responded.
"This isn't a cruel joke right?" He said.
"No, it isn't Frankie... I really do like you." I said.
Frankie's face suddenly brightened and it formed the biggest smile imaginable. He didn't look like he could have gotten any happier.
"I knew it would all turn out good in the end." Mikey said, a very VERY small smile on his face... bit still a smile.
"Wait a minute. You told him?" Frank said to Mikey.
"Uh... yeah." Mikey replied, scratching the back of his head slightly.
"I'm gonna have to thank you later aren't I?" Frank said looking down at his shoes.
"Yes you are." Mikey said back.
"Anyway... we have work to do. C'mon guys we need to get in the booths." Ray said.
We all looked at him as if to say 'thanks for ruining the moment dick' and then collected our stuff and made our way over to the booths, we had a look in some of them and saw some of them singing songs that were very poorly worded off key and guys screwing up generally everything. We waited until they were done to use their booth and set up all of our equipment once they had gotten all their shit out of there.
We saw people looking at us outside the booth with smirks on their fake, plastic, orange faces.
"Okay, we're all ready to go." Bob said, running back into the booth and sitting down behind the drums.
"Okay. 3. 2. 1." Ray said.
The music started and I started singing.
"Yeah!
And if your heart stops beating,
I'll be here wondering,
Did you get what you deserve,
The ending of your life,
And if you get to heaven,
I'll be here waiting babe,
Did you get what you deserve,
The end,
And if your life won't wait,
Then your heart can't take this." I sang, then looked at my audience of fake plastic people. I sang the next part to them.
"Have you heard the news that your dead,
No one ever had much nice to say,
I think they never like you anyway,
Oh take me from the hospital bed,
Wouldn't it be grand,
It ain't exactly what you planned,
And wouldn't it be great if we were dead,
Tongue tied and oh so squeamish,
You never fell in love,
Did you get what you deserve,
The ending of your life and if we get to heaven,

Have you heard the news that your dead,

And in my honest observation,
During this operation,
Found a complication in you heart so long,

Maybe just two weeks to live,

Oh motherfucker if LIFE ain't just a joke then why are we laughing,

Dead!" I sang with all the power within me.
I looked at the guys and saw them with huge smile on their faces.
Then I looked at the people outside the booth.
Oh their faces were priceless.
"Ok guys. We are done here for today. Good job." Mikey said.
We all walked out of the booth like we owned the place.
