You found Me
She's so lucky
She woke to the sound of a heart monitor, the door was closed but she could still hear the busy corridor outside. When she finally forced her eyes open, she was surrounded by white. There was a big window next to her, showing the hospital gardens. The trees were losing their leaves, orange and yellow leaves settling on the ground.
"Hey, you.." she heard a voice on the other side of her. She quickly turned her head to find a boy sitting in the chair next to the bed. He had dark, messy hair and dark hazel eyes. She squinted, she recognised those eyes. But from where? She gasped and sat up, frantically looking around her.
"Where am I? Who are you?" she stared at the boy, watching him smirk at her.
"You don't remember me?" he inched closer to her, still smirking.
"I-I don't remember anything..." she whimpered quietly, drawing her knees to her chest, hugging them tightly.
"Oh! Hello there, Addie" a nurse burst through the door and beamed at the now, finally, awake girl.
"How're you feeling?" the nurse asked, still smiling and moving towards Addie. She searched through her notes and dropped them on the desk near the bed. She watched the girls face show obvious confusion as she searched for an answer.
"Do you remember what happened?" the nurse spoke slowly and clearly. Addie shook her head cautiously.
"Okay, honey. Well, i'm gunna explain to you what happened, and we'll see if any memories come back?" the nurse, who then introduced herself as Sophie, pulled up a chair and started to explain to her what happened.
"There was a gunman, at your high school. The police believe it was a male, though they still haven't tracked him down. He shot, and killed eight people. You were a lucky one." Sophie carried on explaining, but no memories came back to Addie. She felt bad that other people had been killed, but relived that she had survived. Sophie then left to tell the police to give her a bit longer before they question her, leaving Addie alone with the mysterious boy.
"Who are you?" she asked as soon as the door closed. The dark haired boy lifted his head, smirking at her.
"I'm Gerard, and you're Addie.." he stood up and wandered towards the bed, sitting on the edge, facing Addie.
"So you don't remember anything? Nothing at all from that day?" he questioned, looking concerned. She shook her head no, not saying a word.
"Frank Iero was killed. He was your best friend. God, I feel so awful this happened. Tate Langdon, your um, other best friend was also killed. I-I remember it so clearly, I tried to stop him, the gunman, but it was too late. When he shot you, I honestly thought i was gunna lose you.." Gerard murmured, his eyes becoming watery.
"Gerard?... Wh-Who are you, to me?" she sat up, resting her hand on his, he quickly interlocked their fingers and looked into her deep blue eyes.
"It's so painful seeing you like this, you don't even remember me... your boyfriend" the facial expression he was making seemed so genuine. She bit the inside of her cheek nervously. That's probably why i recognise those eyes, she thought.
"Oh god, Gerard, i-i'm so sorry" she choked, throwing herself into his arms. This was exactly what he wanted. This was finally happening. And it was easier than he thought.
