Strictly Forbidden

Gerard desperately tries to dig the charred remains of what was pancake batter from the pan, the scent of smoke and burnt food in the morning air making his eyes water.
"Jesus fuck, non-stick pan my fucking ass...piece of shit!" he curses under his breath as the pancake finally comes free of the metal. Gerard tosses it into the sink from his position at the hot stove. It explodes, all gooey uncooked pancake batter in the center.

"I'm not eating whatever that is," Brendon says, walking into the kitchen holding his nose.
"I second that!" Frank says, waltzing over to Gerard and snaking his hands around the older boy's waist. Gerard smacks Frank's arm with the mixture covered spatula, leaving a sticky mark on his forearm.
"You mean to say that I've been slaving over this hot stove for nothing?" Gerard exclaims, throwing his hand against his forehead dramatically.
Frank and Brendon share an exasperated look, rolling their eyes behind his back and luckily Gerard doesn't catch on.

Frank puts a pot of coffee on, ignoring Gerard moodily putting away his utensils and ingredients. Brendon sits at the counter munching a bowl of heavily sugared cereal watching the two. Frank kisses Gerard on the cheek, who slings an arm around him.

And yeah, maybe their new 'family' was a little mismatched, maybe sometimes their rent was a little late and they were almost evicted twice, maybe it wasn't totally legal that Brendon was staying with them, and maybe even Brendon sometimes wished that he wouldn't walk in on Gerard and Frank snogging or making googly eyes at each other. But they had to admit, despite everything they had been through: they had it damn fucking good. And they wouldn't have it any other way.

We are finished!
This was the final chapter and I'm so so sorry it took so long and there were so many bumps and setbacks etc along the way, but we finally finished.
