A Goodbye Kiss

Frank’s POV
The air is balmy but has an edge to it. I am kept cosy by my long sleeved shirt and hoodie, plus the fact that Gerard Way practically asked me out. Just this lunch time I was sitting alone, believing I could never possibly be with Gerard. Maybe I should start looking up more. Literally and figuratively, I giggle to myself.

Gerard and I criss-cross streets and roads, and eventually we end up at this charming park. Every time he talks I have to look up a little bit, reminding me of how small I am compared to him. For possibly the first time ever, I really don’t mind my height. Gerard doesn’t seem to care, either. At least I maybe I can rest my head on his shoulder when walking one day; I think to myself, and then blush at the imagery it produced.

I am staring up at a couple vividly coloured birds singing in the tree tops, when I feel Gerard’s strong, slightly calloused hands wrap around my waist. He lifts me off the ground, my little feet dangling. I let out a little squeal. Then he rests me on his shoulder and holds me snugly there despite all my efforts at escape. When I ask him whether he knows if I am capable of walking or not, he just chuckles and teases me. Honestly, all I can focus on is exactly how close his arm is to my bum. I bounce slightly on his shoulder as he ran. I don’t know what on earth he is doing, but I don’t really mind. As long as he keeps his arm right–

I am dumped into a tyre swing, and sent flying into the sky. The swing goes wobbly, sending my balance all helter-skelter. Once I regain stability and the swing is flying smoothly, I unfold my arms out and stretch them wide. I feel like I could take off into the sun. My stomach does a tiny flip as the swing pauses at the end of the chain for a split second, then come swooping back down.

The rush of air blows my fringe all over my face. I peer out over from the side of the tyre and smile and Gerard, who is standing behind the swing and pushing me. A smile breaks out across his lips too, his adorable, upturned nose crinkling. I swear his eyes actually glimmer. My stomach does the flipping act again, though this time it is induced only by Gerard.

Finally the swing comes to a stop. I struggle to release myself from the tyre’s grip on my body.
“Uhh, Gerard?” I say hesitantly.
He walks around the swing, appearing in front of me. “Yeah?” he answers confidently.
“I'm, um, stuck. In a child’s swing.” I giggle helplessly, trying to pull myself out but to no avail. His endearing hazel eyes go wide, and then crinkle themselves up as he laughs.
“Gerard!” I say with mock seriousness. “Get your ass over here and help me get my ass out!”
“Alright, alright,” Gerard says, rosy lips still curved in an adorable grin.
He grasps both my arms, each of our hands holding onto each other’s limbs, and tries to tug me out. When I don’t come unstuck, he heaves again. I come stumbling out of the swing and land right on top of Gerard, knocking both of us to the ground.
“Oh my gosh!” I blush furiously, frantically trying to upright myself. Half the blood in my body is in my face right now. Ugh.
He just laughs, insisting that it’s fine.
“Did I hurt you?” I ask once we are standing. I’m staring at my feet, feeling really embarrassed. I just knocked the guy I’ve liked forever to the ground!
“Frankie, I’m fine. Honestly. You weigh, like, fourty kgs.”

He called me Frankie. That’s so cute! I blush again when I notice he is staring at me. To distract him I pull out my phone and check the time. 5:58. I should really get going home. I breathe out; thankful I didn't hurt him or any chances of us becoming friends. Gerard is still smiling at me when I look up.
“It’s almost six; I should really get going before Mum thinks I've been abducted, or something drastic like that.” I say with a little laugh.
“Cool. Can I walk you back to your place?” he asks smoothly. “I won’t abduct you, I promise.” He adds with a chuckle.
“S-sure. That would be cool.” I'm basically a beacon, my smile is so wide.

Once again he takes my hand, which sends shivers shooting over my skin, and we walk slowly back to my house. I am trying my absolute best not to freak out right now. Gerard freaking Way is holding my hand. My hand. Oh my gosh.
It doesn't take long to get back home; the walk is short, only about fifteen minutes. Still, it might just have been the best fifteen minutes of my entire lonely life. Actually, scratch that. This whole damn afternoon was the best time of my entire life. When we get to my door, it’s a bit awkward. He lets go of my hand, and I instantly miss the contact.
“So, um, I live around here, so do you think we could walk together tomorrow? To school I mean. If you’re cool with that. ” I have never seen Gerard like this. He is hesitant in his words, clearly uncomfortable. Every trace of his characteristic charisma and smoothness are gone.
I am every bit as bad as him right now. Practically a flushed mess.
“Y-yeah, that would be awesome!” I hope I don’t sound too excited. Though, I am excited to find out that he lives around here too. It’ll make it easier if we– I stop that train of thought right there. I look down at my shoes.
“Okay. Um, see you tomorrow then.” He smiles.
I smile back.
“Yep.” This is totally running like a trashy teen romance novel. I cringe slightly at my apparently inability to speak. I am fiddling with my keys, about to turn around to enter my house, when Gerard pushes me against the door, and kisses me.

If your having problems with smut scenes, you could always get a co author for just those parts. The reader gets what they want and you don't have to feel awkward. You did really good though.xxx
