You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison

The Beginning

The sound of barking dogs and sirens echoed in Gerard’s ears as his feet smacked hard against the dirt. Flashlights reflected on the ground as the guards ran after him. His heart was pounding. He just needed to make it a little bit further and he would lose them. He never thought he would actually be able to break out of prison. He had always thought it would be impossible but he did it. Now all he needed to do was out run them.

Gerard’s breathing was rough and labored. His raven black hair stuck to the sweat on his face and as he made it further into the woods, the sounds of the guards and dogs faded into nothing. He did it.

After he made it to the main road he walked on the side waiting for a car to pass. Every now and then he would see bright lights grow closer to him but they would ignore him and keep going.

A pair of bright white headlights was glowing in the distance and as Gerard stuck his thumb out, he saw it begin to slow then come to a stop.

The window of the passenger’s seat rolled down and a man with a scruffy beard and a worn baseball hat looked out to him.

“You need a ride somewhere boy? It’s late and you shouldn’t be wandering in the dark. You never know what psychos are out at night.” The man said with a thick southern accent.

“Yeah I’m looking for a ride back to Jersey. Are you heading that way?” Gerard asked nearing the truck and looking through the window.

“Yeah I’m heading close. I can drop you at a truck stop and in the morning you can take the bus. Is that ok?” The man asked as he lit his cigarette.

Gerard smirked slightly. “Yeah that should be fine.” He hopped in the truck and the engine roared back to life and started back down the road.

He smiled at the thought of seeing his beautiful fiancé again. They had some unfinished business.

Jaydee groaned as her alarm screeched in her ear. She smacked it, yawned, and rolled out of bed and into the kitchen.

Jaydee smiled slightly to herself when she saw Mikey sitting with Peyton at the kitchen table. Her beautiful daughter looked up at Jaydee with her big hazel eyes and smiled.

“Mamma!” She squealed jumping off the chair and tottering over to her mom.

“Hey sweetie!” Jaydee smiled and picked her up kissing after all over her face making the 2 year old giggle.

“Well look who’s up.” Mikey laughed and walked over to Jaydee kissing her on the cheek.

During the time Gerard had been in prison Mikey had been around a lot to help Jaydee raise Peyton. The two of them started to grow closer together and after a while started dating. It seemed weird at first for Jaydee because deep down she still loved Gerard but she knew that Mikey was good for her and Peyton. He was a sweet guy and he would take care of them.

“Hey. Did you make coffee?” She smiled weakly still tired and put Peyton back on the ground.

“Was that a serious question? I always make coffee.” Mikey said with a big smile on his face. He was obsessed with coffee.

Jaydee poured herself a cup and turned to look at the TV. A breaking news report interrupted the show they were watching and a reporter appeared on the screen.

“Gerard Way, convicted murder of over 7 women and attempt of murdering his fiancé and her brother, broke out of prison last night. This morning would have been the day of his lethal injection. Police say they are not positive in the direction he went but they think he may be going back to New Jersey in search of his family. Way is about 5’9-5’10 with shaggy black hair and hazel eyes. If seen please report local authorities. Way is extremely dangerous so please keep a look out.” The TV went back to its early program.

Jaydee stood there in shock and felt the coffee mug slip from her hand crashing onto the floor shattering into pieces and spraying hot coffee.

Mikey jumped and looked over at her with the same fear across his face.

“Jaydee its gonna be ok. He won’t get to you. We won’t left him hurt you or Peyton.”

Jaydee just shook her head with tears in her eyes, “I need to be alone.” And with that she went back to her room locking the door.

The tears poured down her face and she slid down to the floor. Whether they were tears of fear he was going to hurt her, or happiness that he wasn’t dead and he was ok she didn’t know. All she knew was that she was fucked up for still loving him and that he was coming home. In her heart she knew that he would be coming home, she just didn’t know what to do
