The girl had an afro and was still shaking after she whispered that message.
"Why would you want to leave Perfeito?" I asked
"You don't know?" she asked gruffly
"What are you talking about?"
She rolled her eyes and said
"Did you ever notice that there are NEVER any kids running in the streets?"
I pushed my black hair out of my eyes and realizied she was right, I never saw any kids or teens running amok in the streets.
"They are all brainwashed! All of them from 0-12, brainwashed into beliving that everything is perfect nothing is wrong! Better Living Industries picks up every baby or kid on the street like trash and now they're after me!"
"Why you?" I asked
"Because tomorrow I'm turning 13 and when you are a teen you can't be brainwashed, only drugged!" she explained
I heard a crashing sound and knew I had to get this girl out of Perfeito, I grabbed my green gun from the cupboard and slowly crawled out the door. I shot at the 10 men who were standing outside the counter, 3 fell down and 7 ran after us. I grabbed the girl's jacket and pulled her to the back where my van was. We hopped into the van and jammed the key into the throttle and shot past the store.
