“Hurry the fuck up Frank!” Mikey called as I drove to Andy’s flat. “Olly was told by Ashley, Andy discharged himself after Gerard got there.” He paused for a moment and let out a lot of air I didn’t realise he was holding. “God, I don’t want to imagine what he’s doing to him right now. Please Frank just hurry.” I nodded and drove a little bit faster.
A little while later we arrived outside the block of flats Andy lived at. Mikey pushed passed me dragging Alexis by the hand. “Hey babe? We need to move now or Mikey’s going to get beaten up too!” Meygan said calmly from next to me as she took my hand. I nodded and began walking. As we approached Andy’s flat his door was wide open and I could hear Mikey screaming harsh words at Andy. I’m not going to lie that kid has balls. Andy is a rather scary looking guy and as thin as his arms may be he’s rather tough.
The first thing I see is Gerard in the corner with his knees to his chest and his head down. He’s rocking back and forth. A pool of blood beside him. He looked so weak, So fragile. I freeze suddenly unable to move, Leaving only my head with the ability to move. I turned to Andy who was still in a argument with Mikey. Both their faces red from anger. “Mikey? Just grab Gerard and let’s get out of here. This is creeping me out.” Alexis says to Mikey. Mikey nods and turns around to face his beaten brother. He starts to walk but is soon stopped short and falls face first to the floor from Andy’s blow to his back. “You son of a bitch! I shall teach you to attack someone from behind you coward!” Meygan shouts and throws a punch at Andy. She usesso much force that Andy himself falls to the ground. Meygan is very small and Andy looms over her, So this was rather funny to see. She then climbs onto him and places punch after punch on his face.
“Frank? We have Gerard we need to go now. Please?” Mikey pleads, I nod again unable to talk as well. I guess god isn’t on my side tonight. Mikey and Alexis head to my car with Gerard and I wait for Meygan, Knowing if I tried to stop her right now I’d end up injured myself. She was scary in a fight. She stood up and I winced at the state of Andy’s face. He looked like he’d been hit with baseball bat several times. Meygan walked past me and out the door. My legs finally decided to then let me move. I got in my car and drove by to my place.
“So what now?” Mikey asks before sipping from his cup of coffee. Everyone’s eyes were on me. I just shrugged knowing Gerard didn’t want to stay here. Thing is he couldn’t go anywhere else. Taylor didn’t know him. Ray still lived with his parents and they were strict. Mikey and Alexis had her brother staying over the couch.So the only people left were me and Meygan.
“He could stay here? Only if he wants to though.” Meygan said without looking at me.
“Babe? He said he didn’t want to stay here. Remember?” I replied and she nodded.
“Are you fucking serious Frank?” Mikey hissed at me. I raised my eyebrow at him “Excuse me?”
“Well to me it sounds like you don’t want him here. Do you even care about him? Staying here until Steve leaves ours isn’t going to hurt you. Better than him getting beaten up right? Or maybe you want him to get beaten up so you can look like the hero again!” Mikey shot back at me.
“Mikey I think you should calm down, That’s not what I meant. Right babe?” Meygan turned to face me a doubtful look on her face. “You really think I want him to get beaten up? Just so I can save him?” She shrugs her shoulders. This pissed me off major time. You partner is supposed to believe you, Not doubt you.
I stood up and turned to face them.”That’s NOT want I want. He can stay here if he likes, As long as he controls himself for once.” I spit and leave the room. I go into the kitchen to find Gerard sat at the table.
“When did you come in here?”I asked and he raised his head to look at me. “When you lot started shouting. I’m sick of shouting, Andy always shouts at me.” He put his head back down and rested it on the table. “Why did you leave Gee? I told you to stay here until things calmed down.”
“I was only going to get in your’s and Meygan’s way.” He paused and raised his head again and looked directly in my eyes. “Plus I can’t stand seeing you with Meygan. Yes she’s awesome but I can’t hide the fact I have feelings for you. I’ve loved you from the time I saw you in that suit at the school disco in year 7 Frank, Deep down I think you know that.” He was right I did. I didn’t say anything and he sighed before continuing.“After we kissed I thought you’d understand that I really do love you, You can’t blame the drink, We were NOT even drunk when we kissed Frank.” Gerard’s eyes grew wide as he looked behind me. I turned to see the kitchen door wide open but no one at the door. I turned back to glance at Gerard who had his hand over his mouth before leaving. I heard Mikey shouting Meygan to come back.
The door was wide open as Mikey stood in the door way shouting her to come back. It was raining pretty hard. “Mikey what happened?” He shrugged and replied with “She went into the kitchen and then ran out the front door.” Shit she heard us. “Which direction did she go? I head in the direction Mikey pointed at and ran until I finally found her under a tree in a small field.
“Go away Frank!” She hissed without even looking up at me.
“Meygan please let me explain?” I asked. She stayed quiet but just nodded. “That kiss Gerard was on about was at a party years ago. I promise you. I love you Meygan and I’m sorry you had to walk in on our conversation.” She looked up at me and said four words I hated to here “Do you love him?” I stared at her for a minute trying to decide what to say. Confess and lose her? Lie and stay with her? Well not exactly lying because I did actually love her too. “DO YOU LOVE HIM?” She screamed at me.
“Meygan it’s complicated.” I sighed. “Actually Frank it’s not. You either do or you don’t, Which is it?”
“I do.” She nodded her head and tears began to fall from her beautiful eyes. “Meygan I love you too though, Which is why it’s complicated.” She shook her head violently from side to side. “If you loved me as much as you thought you did then you wouldn’t of fell for Gerard.” She stood up and I did too. She leaned closer to me and kissed me lightly on the lips.
“Goodbye Frank.” She said as she walked away, Not looking back.
That’s when I knew, When I finally knew I’d lost Meygan.
