After Dark

Chapter 01

“His name is Gee, he’s enticing isn’t he?” The blonde yelled over the music. I nodded, transfixed as he danced around the stage, looking dangerous and owning absolutely everyone. His voice drew me in further, it fit him perfectly.

“He’s every girl’s dream, no matter what they say.”

Gee was a prime example of bad boy. Long black hair and captivating yet feral hazel eyes, Gee’s looks were only a bonus. It was as if being bad was in his DNA. The very thought of him kept my heart beating fast to the beat of the drums.I tried to think of all the times my father had warned me about him, I even remember the time my sister came home with Gee.

That was the worst I had even see my dad; He ran Gee out of the house and procceded to beat the shit out of him. I had been sixteen, it was only two years ago.

“Which one of you pretty little ladies would like to come home with me tonight?” Gee asked the crowd. A cheer of female screams erupted from the crowd, groups of girls pushing their way to the front.

“This is our last song, it’s called Teenagers.”

Teenagers was my favorite song, mainly because it showcased his voice in such a perfect light. I tried to think of what girl he brought back however.I was captivated by him as well, but I couldn’t be one of those girls. I was too afraid to find out what he did to those girls. I could only imagine it. I shut my eyes tightly as the strong scent of alcohol filled my nose.

I started to pull out of the crowd, when the song suddenly stopped. I turned around and Gee was coming down from the stage. I watched him as the crowd parted for him. He came this way, my heart beating faster. He stopped in front of us, the corners of his lips twitching up into his signature wild smile.

“Where you headed Cinderella?” He teased.
“Leaving before the crowd does.” I breathed out.
“No,” He shook his head. “I think I want you for the night.”

Before I could say no, his bodyguard hoisted me up on his shoulders and carried me back to the stage.I stood on the side of the stage, heart beating fast and mind going into overdrive.I watched him begin the song again, cheering along with the people on stage.

As the song came to a close, I was panicking even more. I tried not to make myself seem so small, but it was damn near impossible.I sucked in a breath as he came closer, his arms wrapping fully around me as he jumped down from the stage, waving at the babbling girls.
“To the bar we go.” He whispered as he took my hand and took off into a sprint.

“Why are we running?” I asked huffing.

“Because, police will try and catch me tonight for sure.” The feral look returned to his eyes, a much darker side then I had presumed was present with me tonight. I hestitated, but followed on.Sure enough, the loud white noise of police sirens came following us. I felt like Bonnie, but I knew I was far from being one of the most infamous criminals of all time.

“Keep running!” He yelled laughing.

I tried to think of why activities like this would be fun to him, but I stopped trying to justify his actions and instead went along with them. The white noise went black as we entered a loud, colorful club. People danced all around us, surrounding the two of us in a sea of bodies.

“I’m going to guess you’ve never been to a club before.”

I shook my head no, and Gee nodded in understanding.

“We come here every night. Police don’t come in here, they know they’d never find us.” He smiled, ordering a drink from the bartender and sitting on the stool. I went to sit on the stool next to him, but his arms circled around me before I could think, pulling me onto his lap.

His arms were tight around my waist as his face snuggled closer into my neck. I gasped as I felt his lips leave open mouthed kisses on my neck. This was, strangely, the first thing I had ever really done with a guy. I had never had anyone kissing my neck before.

“Goddamn.” Gee cursed.“You’re even more innocent than I thought.”

I had a feeling Gee wasn’t upset by it as the corners of his mouth tugged into a smile. He looked at me as he downed a shot of pure vodka. He crinkled his nose before ordering another. This was the first club I had been too, and with a guy like Gee I knew something destructive was bound to happen tonight.

“I’m going to show a night darling.” He cheered. He pushed one of the shots in front of me, looking expectedly. I picked it up slowly unsure if I should scream no and run out. Gee smiled, tapping his fingers at the bottom of the glass. Following his lead, I took a deep breath and tossing my head back, the burning shot trailing down my throat.

When I looked back down, I almost regretted it.

“God that’s disgusting.” I said looking at him.
“Probably should have given you something easier to start with.” He nodded. “Don’t worry,” He purred.

I tried to think of why I shouldn’t panic, but I couldn’t. I relaxed in his arms, silently praying to go home. This wasn’t what I had been expecting when I was chosen. I was expecting to be fucked and then thrown away, but it was clear that tonight’s activities would vary.

“How old are you?” Gee whispered for me only. The bar tender gave us strange looks before sliding another shot towards Gee who downed it without hesitation.

“Eighteen.”

I expected then to be thrown off his lap, but instead the smirk on his lips grew even more.

“Don’t be scared, I was fourteen when I first got drunk.”

It wasn’t a surprise to me that Gee was young when he had taken the first drink, but it was an even bigger surprise that I had actually been allowed into a club. I took notice to the people around me, spotting a few people from my very own class.

“See, no one gives a shit around here.” He said. “The person that owns this place was a teenager himself too once. He’s cool with them coming in here and taking a load off.”

I nodded in understanding, scooting further back into his chest.I tried to avoid the gazes of the people, but couldn’t. Everyone was watching just the two of us, most likely because I was sitting on the lap of the most infamous man in our town.

“People will stare. All you can do is accept it.” He whispered. I trudged into the house, my feet swore and mind in overdrive after the hectic night I had spent with Gee. I found it was near impossible that it was less than twenty four hours ago I was standing in the crowd, believing I would never be one of Gee’s girls.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I made it into my bedroom, shutting the door and stripping away of the sweaty t-shirt. I sighed in relief, changing into a night shirt and pants. I closed the curtains, crawling into bed.

It was nearly impossible for me to sleep. I could think of Gee’s voice, something that matched him almost perfectly. It was beautiful, something I could listen to on repeat for days. I felt like I was sixteen again, falling in love for the first time. His name was Colton, but compared to Gee, he was nothing.

Gee was almost radiant despite what his reputation.

I fell to sleep at 4 in the morning, only one thing different from any other night, I had a smile on my face.
