The Killers Around Us
A week later...
After the first week there are still a lot of humans left alive.
“Gerard I’m going into the town to find some food,” I said getting my knife and gun.
“Akari,” he began.
“Gerard I can take care of myself. I’m not weak and along with that you need to stay out of the sun while you can,” I said then leaving the area. He got up after me and grabbed me by the arms.
“Akari, don’t make me beg. I don’t want you to go,” he said almost begging.
“Gerard we have to eat and you can’t always hunt for me,” I said. He gripped my wrist tighter. He bit on his lip and then pulled me into a kiss him holding my face.
“Be quick I don’t trust half of the vampires out here,” he said. I kissed his cheek.
“I promise that I’ll be back soon,” I said. I left him to sleep in the tree house and worked my way into the town. When there I sneaked around and found some bread and fruit. I packed it up and that’s when I saw more cars with vampires in them.
“Fuck this is about to get much harder,” I mumbled to myself. I took off to the tree house and climbed my way to the top.
“Gerard we have a big ass problem now,” I said. He looked at me worried.
“What is it Akari,” he asked standing up.
“There are more vampires coming into the town,” I said. That’s when he heard screams coming from the town. I hugged Gerard not wanting to hear the screams of innocent people. He took his hands covering my ears. He held me close to him I’m positive he felt me trembling. After a while the screams stopped but Gerard held me.
“Is it over,” I asked.
“Yeah it’s over for now,” he said. I got some bread and started to eat it. He stared at me.
“Are you hungry?” I asked him. He nodded. I got up sitting in his lap facing him. I move my hair and the collar of my shirt. I then felt him bite into my neck. In an odd way it felt good and tingly. I held on to him and let him lick my neck clean. He held me in his lap and purred into my ear. I giggled as he nuzzled me.
Later on that night, Gerard woke me up.
“What is it?” I asked.
“Vampire soldiers are looking for us,” he said getting my backpack for me. I jumped up as he grabbed my hand. Once out of the tree house we were surrounded by the Vampire King’s men.
“My dear son I see you have a pretty girl with you,” he said with a hood on. I clung to Gerard and he held on to me just the same finally baring fangs.
“Father you put me into a mental asylum and left me there,” he said as we backed up to a tree.
“Well son, you’re a psychopath,” his father said. I hugged Gerard even more.
“Guards grab them both,” he said. Gerard held me and let them take up.
We were taken to the Castle and then locked into a bedroom.
“What the Hell Gerard,” I said to him, “You didn’t tell me that you were a royal.” I was pissed that never said a word to me about it but nonetheless we were here. I looked around the room and it looked so gloomy.
“I’m sorry I never told you. I know that I would see my father again but not like this and with you here with me,” he said hugging me, “But I know that I won’t him hurt you.” He kissed my cheek as his father came into the room.
