Summertime

Vixen POV: I finished unpacking another box and sighed. I sat back and looked around my new room. I had boxes that still needed to be unpacked and no time to do it. Tomorrow was my first day of junior year at the Belleville high school. I was pretty nervous but not too bad. I saw a boy last weekend that i assume goes to my school. I think he’s a freshman or something. He’s short with black hair and it looks like a lip ring but i couldn’t tell. My aunt keeps telling me to go to the neighbors up the street and meet her two sons that i’ll be going to school with. I’d honestly rather wait and make my own friends. I got up and put my clothes for tomorrow next to my backpack and i grabbed my laptop. I opened it up and stared at the screen. It was a picture of me and my four older brothers. We were all really close and when my dad left i had to go live with my aunt. I rarely get to see them. It’s usually skype every once in a while but mostly texts and phone calls. I missed them like crazy all the time. I started carrying the same picture i have on my laptop in my pocket everywhere i go. I got up and walked over to the window seat i had in my room and sat down. I looked up at the sky and didn’t really see many stars. That was the best thing about the south. You could always see the stars at night. I sighed and leaned my head against the glass. I was just starting to drift off when i heard laughter coming from up the street. I opened my eyes and turned my head to the street and saw the two boys from up the street walking past my house. I shook my head and went into my bed. I pulled out my picture and kissed it. “Goodnight guys. I miss you” i whispered I put the picture under my pillow then reached over turned off the light and fell asleep.
