Limbo
Drowning
So cold....
Gerard was suddenly ripped from unconscious bliss when what felt like a thousand wet icy knives drove themselves into his body.
He involuntarily gasped, instantly filling his mouth with freezing water. He choked, and tried to spit the water out but only more flooded in. He desperately clawed at the water, trying to propell himself to the surface but his body, as if weighed down, began to sink. His lungs burned from lack of oxygen, his head screamed. He tried to keep swimming but only sank further into darkness.
He whipped his head around from side to side, trying to find an escape, the pressure in his lungs reaching it's crescendo. He could see nothing in the murky almost-black water.
Suddenly, a face materialized in the darkness. It was a man, with porcelain skin, a lip and nose ring and black hair falling over one of his brilliant hazel eyes. The man's mouth opened but no words escaped. Instead what appeared to be a swarm of black locusts erupted from his mouth and headed straight for Gerard. The face disappeared as quickly as it appeared.
Gerard opened his mouth the scream but only more water rushed in, his head was spinning and his lungs couldn't take it anymore. He allowed himself to be dragged once again into that familiar darkness which was unconsciousness.
