Jaydee sat there across from Mikey staring into her now cold coffee. She was trying to process what she had just heard. She wasn't sure if she was shocked or if it’s what she had suspected.

"Are you ok Jaydee?" Mikey reached across the table and put his hand on hers. He knew this wasn't easy news to take in.

"Yeah. I think. I just guess I'm not sure what to think. I mean...you answered my question. Is she the only one?" Her eyes met his and he could since the fear that was now coursing through her veins.

"Yeah she’s the only one. Please don't let this change your relationship with him. It was a long time ago and he's finally happy. You make him happy Jaydee. I wouldn't want that to end." There was a mask of concern throughout Mikey's face. He didn't want to be the one responsible for breaking his brother into tiny pieces. Gerard was mess up enough.

"I know Mikey," She looked back down at the table. "It’s in his past." She couldn't bare to tell him that she didn't think that girl he helped bury was the only girl. She couldn't let Mikey know that his big brother wasn't as innocent as he thought.

Mikey squeezed her hand tighter and she looked up and smiled.

Gerard was on his way to work. He worked at a book store down the street from the diner. He recognized his and Jaydee’s car parked outside the diner and he looked through the window. There he saw his fiancé holding hands and smiling with his brother. He felt rage coursing through him as he watched them talk and smile. He really couldn't trust anyone.
He tried to keep walking but his feet felt nailed in place. He just stood there watching them.
Mikey looked up from his spot and saw Gee staring at them. He quickly pulled his hand from Jaydee making her follow his gaze. There she saw Gerard staring at he with hurt and betrayal in his eyes. She could only imagine how bad this must have looked. She told Gerard she was going to the gym then to vist Frank this morning. She didn't want him to know she was really visiting his brother to pump him for information that she should know nothing about.

Gerard couldn't watch more. He broke their eye contact and continued down the street. A minute or two later he heard the sound of shoes hitting the pavement and his name being called. He turned and saw Jaydee trying to catch up to him.

"Gerard wait!" She called. Her breathing was becoming labored.

He stopped and turned to face her. His expression was blank.

"It’s not what it looked like Gee." She pleaded. For some reason no matter what she knew about him, just seeing his face took all the bad thoughts away and all she could feel towards him was love. At least that was true until now. The way he was looking at her made her scared.

"What was it then Jaydee? Because it looked like you were seeing my brother behind my back."

"That’s not what it was Gerard. I swear to you." She looked at him nervously.

"I'll talk to you about this later Jaydee." He had no emotion on his face and his voice was a straight mono tone. Seeing him like this scared her more then when he was yelling. Now she wasn't sure what he was capable of.

He turned and walked down the street towards his work at a slow pace. His hands were clenched into fists.

Jaydee watched as he walked, her heart pounding out of her chest. The anticipation of later
that night had her worried.
