Study Buddies
21 Guns
Gerard's POV
After an art class full of making awkward eye contact with a certain cute boy, Gerard had lunch and headed to guitar one. He was complete shit at guitar but it was something he'd always wanted to learn. He loved music, but he tended to just sing songs, rather than playing them. But anyone could do that. He wasn't anything special.
He stopped outside the door, realizing that someone was playing inside. He wasn't entirely sure, but it sounded like 21 Guns by Green Day. He found himself standing by the door, listening and singing along under his breath. Whoever it was, they were way too good for guitar one.
The bell rang, startling him, and he quickly entered the classroom to see who had been playing. God damn it, it was the kid from the hall again, and Gerard still couldn't remember his name. He gave him a small polite smile, sitting down in a seat near the back of the classroom. He'd be renting a guitar from the school so he didn't have it yet.
The other guy put his guitar down, and Gerard assumed he'd be leaving now, since this obviously wasn't his class. But he didn't put it away, just set it on the case. Maybe...maybe he'd signed up for the wrong class? Maybe he was a T.A?
Against his better judgment, Gerard scooted closer to him. "Uh, excuse me, are you a T.A?"
"What? No." He seemed pretty confused about why Gerard would think that.
"Well then you'd better hurry up and get to class, or you'll be late."
"This is my class."
"This is guitar one."
"Yeah. Which is the class I have. For fourth period." Gerard just seemed to be confusing him.
"Well you're way better than guitar one."
"How would you know?"
Oh right. "Oh uh, I heard a little of your playing before I came in. It was really good."
His facial expression quickly changed from vaguely suspicious to slightly flustered. "Ah. Well, I wouldn't say that."
Just then the teacher called for silence, and their conversation ceased abruptly.
Notes
Whoops, almost accidentally misspelled Green Day as Greed Day. I'm proud of myself.
