The grass is always greener
Summary
When Gerard is sent to a psychiatric hospital because his mum can't cope with his schizophrenia he is put under the care of Doctor Green. However, it soon becomes clear that Green is more interested in settling an old score between them than helping him recover. His nurse, Bob, and his therapist, Frank, must work to uncover Green's secrets before the doctor can have a permanent effect on Gerard's fragile mental health.
There is some Rikey in this but only in an they're-already-a-couple kind of way. I did intend it to be a Frerard but it didn't happen in the end :(
This is my first fanfic ever so I'm pretty excited because it's fun writing with next to no rules and making stuff up as I go along - I hope you like it. :)
Characters
Bob Bryar
Bob is a nurse at the hospital who tries to help Gerard.
Doctor Green
Green is Gerard's doctor but he is fixated on revenge for a lost opportunity and so is the perverted villain (because every story needs one).
Frank Iero
Frank is a psychotherapist (and hypnotherapist) assigned to Gerard when he starts to go downhill.
Gerard Way
Schizophrenic and hopelessly childlike, he has a close bond with Mikey and is totally harmless.
Mikey Way
Gerard's main guardian. He is married to Ray and is a successful businessman.
Ray Toro
Mikey's husband. He does a lot to support Mikey and sometimes also acts as Gerard's carer when needed.
