the worst and best thing to ever happen to me
Chapter Three
*Mikey's POV*
Gerard had told me he'd gone to a party last night and I didn't think much of it until he didn't return home the next morning. I started to get somewhat worried and started calling his phone over and over again.
It must be dead or maybe he doesn't have it on him.
Or Gerard could have gotten wasted and hooked up with someone and he could still be sleeping. I slumped down onto my comfortable bed and started texting Gerard again. I was holding my phone over top of my face and I ended up dropping it on my face, digging my glasses into the bridge of my nose.
It was now late at night and Gerard hadn't come home yet and now my worry was getting the best of me. I kept peering out the window to the dark coloured streets that were lit by all the lamp-posts outside. I saw a few people walking around but none of them matched Gerard's profile. Long black hair, (long for a guy at least) extremely pale skin, some-what skinny and most likely all black clothing. I couldn't take the paranoia and worry and terrible thoughts anymore so I decided to call some of Gerard's best friends.
"Hello?" A voice asked.
"Hey uh Patrick, have you seen Gerard anywhere? He went to that party last night and it's been like 24 hours since he left" I said.
"No, sorry Mikes" Patrick said.
"Oh alright, I'll talk to you soon." I said.
I called all of Gerard's friends that I knew the numbers of but I got the same reply. "Sorry, I don't know where he is." I was starting to get frustrated and upset until I got a text back from Patrick.
"Mikey. Call the police" Patrick typed.
"What? Why? What's going on??" I asked.
Patrick never replied but from what he had said I dialled 9-1-1 into my phone's keypad immediately and started talking into the microphone.
"Nine-one-one, what is your emergency?" The operator asked.
"My brother has gone missing and he's been gone for twenty four hours and I'm freaking out" I cried into my phone.
I couldn't believe my parents weren't doing anything about Gerard. Our parents really didn't care about us. They didn't abuse us or anything they just never payed attention to either of us. They probably didn't even realize Gerard was missing but it wouldn't be a surprise since Gerard would always hide out in one room of the house for a week at a time.
"Sir, please calm down we're going to keep our eyes peeled for him. What's his name?" The dispatcher asked.
"Gerard Way." I choked out.
"Alright. Talk soon" She said.
"Thank you" I said.
I hung up my phone, feeling no better and feeling like the dispatcher did no help. I felt like I should do more to help but I couldn't think of anything at the moment. It would be too early to put up missing posters. Patrick did never get back to my texts. I closed my eyes and got lost in my thoughts, eventually falling asleep.
