Lies Will Destroy You

I sit here, among the silence and the broken furniture of the abandoned hotel room, pale fingers working their way across the typewriter; speaking the words I dare not say aloud. Piecing together the final shreds of evidence of this terrifying tale. Darkness had finally fallen. A full moon, shone brightly down from the blackened skies, spotlighting me in its beautiful and majestic light through a large, Victorian styled window in the corner of the room. I often sat by the window. It offered me some kind of comfort with the cold, autumn breeze that often crept through the shattered window panes and the view of the ever so beautiful moon. I dare not draw the curtains for I fear, to do so, will be the last time I ever see such a beauty within the sky- so I stripped the windows bare of anything to disallow its light.The room, in which I sit, is dark. Pitch black except for the few candles which surround me and the typewriter, filling that corner of the room with an angelic glow.

For now, my love for the night shall be laid to rest. It shall remained buried within my heart, for now at least, as there is much more chilling tale to be told; a tale that has been hidden behind my lips for so many years; haunting my thoughts; perhaps even draining my sanity until it escapes.

So I sit here, among the silence and the darkness, the tatters of my life seeming to lie amongst the broken bits of furniture, the cold air edging its way through the broken window and the cracks within the walls; the room seeming to breathe with me, as though this tale of unfortunate events will bring it to life and let it swallow me whole.

This is a story of love, betrayal, power and, perhaps most terrifying of all, a story of revenge.
