I sung the song in my head, it seemed appropriate to my current situation.
Everything's been quiet for a while now, I've not heard any voices for some time. Maybe the Devil gave up?.. Maybe he'll start with the physical torture soon.. It would be nice to feel.. something, instead of this dead, numb feeling all the time.
Where did that pain go, that I was feeling before?
I don't know how long I've been here. Minutes or years, time doesn't really seem to exist here.
Wait!.. Am I in limbo now?.. Cos that would explain the mind-numbing boredom!

I'm dead, and probably buried six feet under right now.. But it's still nice to hear his voice, even if it is a lie that the Devil's telling me beep beep beep ".. Baby please.. They want to turn the machines off.. I d..don't want you to g..go!.." This is so cruel, though what else can you expect from the Devil? beep beep beep ".. I love you so much Gee!.. Please come back to me?.." beep beep beep I was wrong!.. I'm still in Hell!.. I can hear him crying!.. I know this is a lie, but it still breaks my heart to hear. beep beep beep God!.. The Devil's a master at this torture shit! ".. Gee, they're gonna be back soon, then it will be too late.. It's now or never baby!.. Wake up for me?.. Please?.." What does the Devil want from me?.. Does he want me to break down?.. Does he want me to try to wake up?.. As pointless as that effort would be. beep beep beep I think I preferred the silence!.. Well, I guess I might as well give it a try.. I try to move.. Try to open my eyes.. A flash of light, then back to darkness "..Baby?.. Oh my God!.. That's it baby!.. Come back to me.." beep beep beep I try again.. Another flash of light.. This one's longer.. Then.. My eyes fluttered open to a bright white room. Frankie's face leaned over me, but it was blurry ".. Gee?.. Can you hear me?.."
I groaned slightly.. The only noise I seemed able to make. beep beep beep That's a heart machine!.. Why would the Devil do this?.. Why would he show me this? Frank was holding my hand.. His hand was warm and soft, and I could feel him rubbing circles on my skin. Something felt off.. His guitar calluses!.. Where were they?.. It felt wrong without them!.. Surely, if the Devil was trying to make me believe this, Frank's calluses would be there?! ".. Gee?.. Look at me baby.." I tried to focus on his face.. His grin.. His eyes!.. He looked so tired! ".. I'm gonna call the nurse.." He pressed a button on the wall, and a soft bing bing bing noise joined the steady beep beep beep. A moment later, a door opened, and Frank turned toward whoever had entered ".. See?.." He said ".. I told you he'd wake up!"
