You only hear the music when your heart begins to break

*Gerard's POV*

Beep beep beep... That's all I can hear. I'm still in darkness, and my stomach feels like it's been cut open with a rusty saw.. But at least the Devil hasn't come around yet.
Beep beep beep... What the hell IS that? Beep beep beep... It's SO fucking annoying! Beep beep beep... I thought the soundtrack to an eternity in hell would be screams and cracking fire, not this! Beep beep beep.. For fuck sake!.. What IS that? Beep beep beep.. Goddamnit!
Another noise starts registering in my dead mind. A voice!.. A man's voice!.. Quiet and low, and very close, though I can't hear what he's saying. Beep beep beep.
It's a bit like those disembodied voices that the guys on that Ghost Hunters TV show record, trying to convince us that we're hearing spirits, when it's probably just the cameraman muttering about how fake and crap it all is. God I love that show!
I can feel something ticking my hand, and the voice is getting clearer now, though the words are still indistinguishable. Beep beep beep.
Is it the Devil?.. Come to torture me?.. That would at LEAST be something different, instead of the dark, the pain, and the fucking Beep beep beep.
"Gerard?.. Come back.." Shit!.. That sounded like Mikey!.. Low blow Satan!.. Using my little brother's voice on me ".. We miss you man!" Beep beep beep.
StopitstopitSTOPIT!!.. I didn't realise the devil was into emotional torture, I thought it would all be physical Beep beep beep.
"Gee please!.. I'm sorry!.. I love you!.. PLEASE wake up?" And now Frankie's voice!.. I kinda wish for some time on the good ole rack!.. ANYTHING but this!.. I can't take the lie! Beep beep beep.
Of course, the devil probably knows that this hurts me more than whips and knives. That's why he's doing it! Beep beep beep.
"Gerard?.. We're all here for you!.. We want you back buddy!" Ray! Beep beep beep.
Then there's a voice I DON'T recognise "Give him time gentlemen. The pills he took suppressed his mind and body's functions to the point of coma, but the tests we did this morning DO indicate improvement. Just keep talking to him. I can't guarantee that he can hear you, but it can't hurt." Beep beep beep.
"Thanks doc" Mikey said, quietly.
Wait, WHAT?.. COMA?!.. I'm NOT dead?.. Or is this just a trick?.. The devil teasing me with thoughts of people actually caring if I live or die?.. As unlikely as that seems. Beep beep beep.
"Come on Gee.. We need you baby!" Frankie!.. Don't lie!
I feel my hair being brushed from my face. I try to open my eyes.. Nothing! Beep beep beep.
"It's been two weeks guys!.. Do you REALLY think he'll wake up?" Ray speaks the truth!.. I'm never waking up!
"Shut up Ray!.." Frankie snapped ".. He's gonna come back!.. He HAS to!" Beep beep beep. His voice trails off, and now the only thing I can hear is that damn Beep beep beep.
God!.. THAT'S getting old, real fucking fast.
