The Light Behind Your Eyes
I pulled up to the remnants of Hyper-Thrust, where Fun Ghoul and Val were waiting for me. I stepped off of my motorcycle. I honestly only used it when I needed to move around faster then the Trans Am allowed. Without saying a word, the three of us began to work. We dug through the debris for what felt like forever. This was too similar to the grounds after the Helium Wars. At least for me, since I had been on the recovery and rescue. We pulled the bodies from the destruction, and placed them next to each other in a line.
The one that truly terrified me. In the corner closest to DJ Hot Chimps stage, laid the bodies of two killjoys. A man and a woman. The man had his top half of his body, which was covered in burned purple leather, covering the woman's small body. He was protecting her when they died. It was too real. This killjoy had done something I couldn't even do for Dr. D or Grace. They needed to be burned together.
I know it sounds harsh, burning them so that there wasn't anything left. It was that or let Better Living Industries have them, so they can be turned into the next level of DESTROYAS. In wasn't about to let that happen either. It wasn't about to go down like that.
In total, twenty-three Killjoys and thirteen androids had died. Blu, Dolly, Grace, and Show Pony arrived with the body of Doctor Death Defying. It was like a huge funeral service. The men all stood at the end of the van, and together, we grabbed hold of Dr. D. We led him to the most open section of the desert and laid him on the dirt Grace knelt next to him, and pulled off Dr. D's well loved black bandana and put it in her pocket.
"Does anyone want to say anything?" Fun Ghoul asked.
"I'll miss you, Dr. D" Grace said, crying.
"Thank you for teaching us to be human." Dolly said.
"You know," I started "I was once told by Doctor Death Defying to never let them take your light behind your eyes. Never let them beat you. So, never let them take the light behind your eyes, because that's what he wanted."
With that, Val dumped a gallon of gasoline over Dr. D, pulled out his lighter, and set the body ablaze. I didn't want to watch. I didn't want the reminder that my mentor was fuckin' dead. Instead, I picked up another canister of gas and begun to pour it over the other bodies. I took the lighter and quickly ignited the gas, not wanting to waste any time.
"Party!" Dolly exclaimed, following me as I walked away from the bodies. "Where are you going?"
"To figure out a away to eliminate Korse and the Director"
"Look Alive, tumbleweeds! It's your girl Dolly Pop here with some bad news. Two nights ago, Hyper-Thrust was attacked by Better Living Industries. And we lost so many people. But that was just a distraction. Here, in Battery City, Korse attacked our home base: the former offices of Better Living Industries. We lost so many people that day, and added on to that, our beloved pirate radio host. Doctor Death Defying. Dr. D died protecting our little missile kid. In total we lost thirty-seven killjoys and androids. We have already given them a proper memorial service. We couldn't risk BL/Ind getting the remains and turning them into killers. We are taking these attacks personally. We will not let Better Living Industries win. We know they are watching this transmission as we speak. And we have one message for you. Keep Running."
This is really good u totally should do a thee cheers for sweet revenge one! Even if it has been done over and over again I bet yours will be good so it'll count!
