Behind Amber Eyes

Ghoul

Ghoul didn't remember much after the dracs had taken them to separate rooms. He didn't even try struggling. He knew it wouldn't work and he was to broken to care. After seeing the way Party treated Shock, he began to feel that his chances with her were slim. At least if she loved him, she would be in good hands.

Ghoul sat there,in his new room, staring at the wall. There was barely anything in the room. He had a bed, a desk, and the only book BLInd allowed: the rule book. Ghoul grabbed the book and chucked it against the wall.

"To hell with the fucking rules!" He yelled. He made his way over to the wall and started punching it. BLInd wasn't going to win this. Ghoul was going to get out and save everyone. He would be the hero this time. He would be the night in shining armor.

"Take it easy," said a voice behing him. Ghoul turned around to see a tall woman with a bob. She was wearing a grey suit.

"What do you want?" Spat Ghoul throughout gritted teeth.

"This is your new...inmate if you will." Three dracs came through the door, shoving a bloodied, battered man. The four left imidiately, leaving Ghoul and the man alone.

"I'm Ghoul," said Ghoul, walking up to the man.

"Yeah, I know," said the man smiling. Ghoul recognized him: Lukas.

"What did they do to you?"

"Oh, you know," started Lukas, "I kind of betrayed the most powerful man here. And I payed." Lukas lifted his shirt to show off many bruises and cuts.

"Where are the others? They have to be around here somewhere."

"They are. Gerard and the other one are here somewhere. I don't know where the girl is and he is using Michael and Raymond as slaves."

Ghoul frowned. At least he wasn't alone anymore, but he was worried about the others. Could they hear him if he yelled? We're Kobra and Jet able to be saved? Was Shock okay? Questions buzzed through his mind like a trillion bees. Where was he going to start?

"So what's the deal with Shock?" He asked.

"The girl?" Ghoul nodded and Lukas continued. "I know her by Ellie, She calls herself Harley, and Shock is a new one for me. Yeah, she's my sister."

Ghoul's eyes widened. Sister? He could kind of see it. Their cheekbones were the same, and they had similar noses. The thing that stood out was their eyes. Bright, beautiful amber eyes. They were full of so much emotion, so much promise. How could he not see it before?

"Can't Korse control you?" Asked Ghoul, remembering what Jet had said.

"I'm older and have learned to fight against it," he answered. "That's why I'm here."

"So that means Shock can fight it too."

"Possibly," answered Lukas with doubt.

"What do you mean? If you could do it, so could she, right?"

Lukas sighed. "Korse is evolving the gene more and more. Soon, she'll be his play toy."

Ghoul looked into his hands. She was going to be gone forever, tagging along as Korse's doll. There would be no way for Ghoul to save her.

"What is she like?" Asked Ghoul.

"I don't remember much. We were separated as kids, but she's determined and strong. Nothing scared her, and she was six! But now, she's sadder, less motivated. I guess she just gave up and let everything go."

Ghoul grunted. That sounded like Party. They were alike in so many ways. He felt like they were best friends already, even though he didn't really know her at all.

"I see the way you look at her," blurted Lukas. Ghoul looked at him, blushing. "You like her. But why?"

Ghoul shrugged. "You can't really explain why your attracted to someone. You just know." Lukas nodded in reply. The two of them sat in silence until the heard a deep voice on the intercom.

"Harley Killer is dead."

Party

Party was in a room alone. He had the girl he loved ripped from his arms right in front of him. He remembered crying and struggling against the dracs until he was knocked unconscious. Now he was here, thinking of a way to escape.

He wondered where the others were. He hoped they were safe. If Party found out that Korse had done anything else to his friends, he would blow.

Party heard a buzzing sound coming from above him. he shot up to investigate what it was. there where whispers and then a voice.

"Harley Killer is dead."

What? Where had Party heard that name before? Images flooded through his mind. He saw Shock and him just outside of Battery City. But Shock wasn't the girl in Battery City. More images piled in his head. She was the girl who told Kobra she was Lana. She was Ellie. She was everywhere. How did Party not realize before? Was he brainwashed? More images and words clouded his brain. He Just needed something...

Then click. The one memory we saw her crying about something. She was mad at him. She was talking to him, softly and smoothly.

She had hypnotized him.

Anger bubbled up in Party. The sweet, innocent girl he knew had hypnotized him so she could keep her identity safe? What kind of person does that? He couldn't believe she would do something like that to him. He thought he could trust her, but this only made him doubt her more.

"I can't believe it," he murmured.

"We can't either." Party was startled at the sudden noise. He turned around to see a tall woman in a grey suit. Two dracs rushed in after her, grabbing his hands and tying them behind his back.

"Gah!" Party cried out. "What do you want!"

"Come with us," she said. Party reluctantly was dragged through hallways and into an elevator. They went down to the basement. The woman opened a door that led to a large room. The lighting was dim. On the other side of the room was a person. Their hands and feel were chained to the wall. Party was forced to a chair in front of the person. The dracs chained his feet and hands to the chair.

"Have fun," smirked the woman. Party sneered and looked at the person. To his surprise, he saw Shock.

"I thought she was dead," he gaped.

"It's amazing what people will believe, eh?" The woman and the dracs left the room, leaving Party and Shock alone.
