Kids in Love

Chapter 10

Alice went for a run while the sun was still out. Her mind was all muddled up and going for a run on her own usually helped with whatever was going on. She missed New Jersey, being there again still felt so foreign yet she also felt completely comfortable. But that was down to the people. She never even fully realised how much she missed the guys until they'd seen each other again, being young and naïve she thought she'd always find friends like them wherever she went. It wasn't until high school that she came to know that people like them were few and far between. They were special, everything just felt so natural when she was with them.

But Frank was a whole other story. Alice had landed herself in a hole. She knew she liked Frank, that much was entirely obvious to her but she understood that it was silly. She was only going to be in New Jersey for the summer and after that who knew whether or now she'd even be back again, she let it go so long before, who's to say it wouldn't happen again. A relationship would only make it harder. And she hadn't the faintest idea as to whether or not Frank even liked her that way, she was already thinking about relationships without even taking his feelings into account. Alice had thought about all angles of the situation by the time she returned home, and over the course of an hour she had succeeded, slightly, in calming herself down and making sense if the while thing. Alice came to the conclusion that it was merely unresolved feelings from when they were younger. Nothing more, and that they would go away with time. Perhaps she had a small crush, but that was it, small. Manageable.

---

The following morning Alice awoke to her phone buzzing on her bedside locker. The phone vibrated and moved toward the edge of the table, Alice snatched it up quickly before it fell. Holding it to her ear lazily, still lying down. She answered with a groggy "Hello?", an overtly chirpy voice replied.
"Hey there Alice, Frank here. Sorry if I woke you but there are urgent matters at hand!"
"Jesus Frank!" She rubbed her eye with the heel of her hand, "it's 8:00 in the damn morning! Why on earth are you awake?"
"Oh Alice, the morning is when I get everything done, but that's beside the point!"
"Okay, what's your urgent news then?" Alice sat up in her bed and rubbed her eye.
"Well, the guys and I got a gig this evening, you wanna come?" she could feel his excitement through the phone.
"Yeah, of course! Where is it?"
"Oh, it's in this club in town, come over whenever you're dressed and I'll give you the details.Cool?"
"Um, yeah, okay."

Frank hung up the phone quickly. Alison groaned as she heaved herself out of bed scrambled to stand up. She showered and dressed slowly and went downstairs where her grandmother was sitting at the table with a cup of coffee. "How are you doing honey? You're up awfully early" her grandmother was also chirpy for the morning.
"I'm good. Frank called a couple of minutes ago. He needs my help, or something, he wasn't very clear. I'll see you later though." Alice leaned down and kissed her grandmother on the forehead before grabbing an apple and heading out the door. Frank opened the door for her before she could even knock. he enveloped her in a hug.

"How is it that you are so upbeat in the morning? Do you ever get tired?" she asked him when he let go of her.
"Occasionally. Anyway, I'm just excited, we've played little parties and stuff but this is a real gig, in a club, with a stage and people!"
"I can't wait either, but why on earth am I here this god damn early man?" Frank shrugged and smiled,
"I don't really know to be honest. I got a call from my friend who owns the club and you were just the first person I thought to call." He looked a bit confused but looked up to smile at her.
"Thanks I guess, but have you told the guys yet?" Frank cringed, "you haven't told the guys?! Jesus, go. do it, now!" Alice pointed towards the phone, a grin still plastered on her face.

I just came across this story and it's so good I love it! I read the whole thing in one day!

for some reason it seems pointless for me to ask for an update, but I will anyways.

I need to know how it ends! You'd be the most amazing person ever if you update this now after so long!

That's just rude of them! How can they expect anything to be done good and right, if you don't have the information? It just doesn't make sense to me.

Hmm, also to answer one of your questions. (Considering I've been a My Chem fan since I was 12) My favorite song by them is Headfirst for Halos. <3
