[ Mikey's POV ]

When I woke up, my eyes landed on a man that seemed to be made from gold. His eyes glistened, a pale golden tinge to them. It hurt to look at the man without moaning in pain, the desire to curl into a ball taking over me.

''Morning princess.'' His snide voice rang out. His voice was shrill, or maybe it was just my overly sensatitve hearing. Which ever one it might be, his voice felt like knives piercing my skull.

Uncurling my small frame, I saw a window. It was dark outside, but it felt midday. My stomach, much like before, twisted in tight knots.

''Who are you?'' I ask, finally realising that I sounded hoarse. The man smiled at this, brushing strands of black hair from his face.

''I'm Bert, but I didn't kidnap you. You're lucky, princess. You got taken by Frank.'' By the devious look in his hazel eyes, I could tell he was lying. I was anything but lucky to have been kidnapped by Frank.

''Why did he kidnap me? I'm nothing to him! I'm just...I'm just...'' I couldn't speak anymore. My chest felt like it was ready to explode and I started to gasp. I was in desperate need of my inhaler.

''What's wrong with you?'' Bert asks, his milky white arms crossing. Now that he wasn't directly in the light, I could tell he wasn't golden, but a toned color. He looked like a model, in a way. He would just have to wash the grease from his hair and fix his slightly yellowing teeth.

''I-I...can't...can't...'' Talk. I can't talk. Nor can I breathe. How stupid can one guy be to not know I'm having an asthma attack?

　
''You can't what? You can't breathe?' As soon as the words escaped his mouth his eyes widen and he left. I felt so alone, so helpless. I was going to die and I wouldn't even be able to say goodbye to Bob and Gerard.

　
What seems like hours later Bert and a guy that I remember being named Frank comes into the room, inhaler in hand.

　
My hand was pressed tightly against my chest and the tightness I felt was so sharp and painful I nearly burst into tears. Almost.

　
Frank kneels next to me and puts the inhaler in my mouth, pressing the mutton so the sweet oxygen was sent into my body. After a few more tries, I was no longer gasping for air.

''You sure know how to pick them, Iero. You got a broken one.'' Bert says with a shake to the head.

　
My eyes widen at his words. Broken? No! I can't help it I was born this way. I'm not broken, I just have something other people might not. Having something so simple like asthma doesn't mean you're broken.

　
Frank smirks down at me, wripping the inhaler from me like a mother would do to a breast feeding baby. Whimpers escaped my lips but quickly hushed to nothing when Frank cracked me across the head with the inhaler bottle. It was small and shouldn't have hurt, but my head already felt like it was splitting.

　
''We should give him a real reason to be broken then, shouldn't we Bert?'' Frank asks, cracking his tattooed knuckles.

　
My stomach lurched and tears threatened to spill from my eyes when Frank kicked me in the ribs. A cry escaped my lips and I pleaded to black out. I didn't want this anymore - this pain. I didn't want to be around for when Frank and Bert beat me so badly I can't walk for a week straight.

　
''You're pathetic, princess. Do you know that? Pathetic! You deserve everything we give you.'' He barks, kicking me again.

　
A moan of pain escaped my bleeding lips. I watched as they left, their footsteps lulling me into a black pit of nightmare-filled sleep.
