I'll never let them hurt you, I promise

Once Gerard left for his date with frank I decided on taking his advise. Me and Pete had already talked at school, I wouldn't say we were like close friends but I had his number and he had invited me to Patrick's birthday party which I wasn't allowed to go considering my age.
We have only talked over text once and that was the very conversation where he asked me to go to the party but we talk all the time at school so I guess it would be cool to text him.
I realise how much im overthinking this as I sit on my bed thumbing with my mobile in my hands. I should just do it and stop being a girl about it.
I finally text him
** hey Pete, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out tomorrow? mikey:D **
once the text is sent I realise how lame it is, I instantly want to delete it but when i realise I cant I want to smash my phone up, knowing pete will read it, laugh and ignore it, then tell everyone how much of a loser I am. as soon as I start getting really nervous about his answer m phone buzzes on the bed next to me, I pick it up and read the message;
"hey mikes, yeah sure meet me at the coffe shop at noon.x"
I re read the message about a hundred times, not only had Pete fucking Wentz agreed to hang out with me but he also used my nickname and he also put a kiss on the end. to Pete that probably meant nothing but to me it gave me hope that I could actually have a chance with him, it made my heart flutter a little.
I didn't text him back that night but decided to go downstairs and play video games with jaylin as it was too early to actually go to sleep just yet. however we are rudely disturbed by loud knocking on the front door. jay hurriedly rushes to the door, opening it and imminently letting some random boy inside.
"me and Andy are gunna go hang out upstairs ok?" jay asks before dragging the boy up stairs without time for me to answer or hardly giving me a second glance.
Only a hour later im disturbed again by the front door being shut loudly. I turn my head to see Gerard looking down at me and I instantly feel proud of myself for picking his outfit.
"you look even better then I planned" I say with a overly proud smirk on my lips.
"ill take that as a compliment" he says before sitting down on the sofa. thoughts of asking Gerard how his date went run through my head but I decide against asking any questions about it just yet and continue to play my games.
After a few more question about where everyone is Gerard heads up to Jay's room and I forget to tell him about the Andy boy so I probably just made things awkward for them up there. oh well.
Soon after I head to bed, re reading the text from Pete one last time.

When I wake up the next morning I hear voices downstairs and immediately recognize them as Gerard's and franks but they're soon hushed as I assume they go into Gerard bedroom. Because my brain is still half asleep I don't register that if franks is here its probably late in the day but when I do realise I quickly look a the time on my phone, its half 12 and I have two missed calls and a message from Pete. fuck
did I really just sleep in and ruin my whole plans with Pete god damn. I quickly get up throw on some clean boxers, skinny's and a top. shove on my boots and jacket, putting a beanie hat on to cover my bed head and finally adding my glasses before heading out the door and jogging down to the café on the edge of town.
When I barge inside the small coffee shop I see Pete stood up just putting his coat back on as if to leave. I quickly stumble up to the table he's sat at
"im so sorry Pete" I quickly blurt out "I slept in, im such a jerk" Pete stops In his tracks ad stares at me with a confused expression on his face but its soon replaced with a smile and a giggle Pete.
"you don't have to be sorry mikes" he says re taking his coat off "it cool," I smile at his words wondering if he's actually bothered by my lateness or not.
We sit down opposite each other on the table and order two coffee's, we sit for a while inside the small coffee shop, just making small talk as we sip at our warm drinks. my eyes keep running over his facial features as if I cant get enough, he's gorgeous
His eyes are what captivate me the most and I find myself staring into them and getting lost, the black of his pupils seems to just faded into the dark green colour which then seems to fade into a brown almost yellow tinted colour. However its not the colour which draws me to them its the sparkle in them, the light behind them. the happy feeling he carries in them the life he genuinely shows through them.
However I also cant stop myself from rolling my eyes over his cute nose, slight stubble and pouty pink lips and just to top off his complete hotness his dark brown hair with bright red tips frames his face perfectly in this moment he looks perfect.
I soon realise im practically drooling and that I've ignored his last question
"what?" I ask wanting him to repeat himself. he just giggles a little before
"want to go have a walk around town?" I look at him confused before realising we have both finished our drinks
"the new cobra starship alum is out and I need it" he continues before standing up and pulling his coat back on. I soon follow his lead, smiling at his music choice and following him out of the café.
As we begin to walk into town an awkward silence surrounds us but fortunately Pete brakes it, my social skills seem to be failing me today.
"that hat looks good on you by the way"
the complement catches me off guard and once I realise what's he said my cheeks heat up and I blush a little, he turns his gaze to look at me as we continue to walk but only smirks at my embarrassment.
we walk the rest of the way with him telling me about how he and Patrick are wanting to start a band but I don't contribute much to the conversation still a little flustered by the complement. soon I realise Im the one who likes him so I should be the one flirting however it seems to be the other way round.
is Pete gay?

Once we get to the music store we head inside and start browsing around looking for the new album Pete so desperately wants.
"so" I say flicking through the albums which line up the shelf "how come your not with Patrick now?" I ask genuinely wondering why he's here with me and not his best friend.
"oh" he answers looking up through his fringe for a second to look at me "well he's with Hayley " I just nod with a "hum" as an answer
"not that I wouldn't want to hang out anyway" he quickly adds afterwards making me smile.
After a few more minutes Pete finally finds the album and I have a sentence which has been burning at the back of my throat wanting to escape and hit Pete in the face, but I cant out right ask him if he's gay so I decide to be more sneaky about it.
I start giggling to myself to get his attention
"what's so funny?" he asks
I shoot him a fake confused look before saying "oh" giggle "I just remembered something Gerard said about you"
his face instantly drops "what did he say?" he ask
I giggle again just adding more tension
"oh he just through that you and Patrick we're like together. a couple and it made me laugh" he looks at me again a smile growing on his face
"we're close, but not that close" he say giggling a little with me this time
"anyway, tell Gerard, Patrick's not even my type"
my heart skips a beat, I don't know if Pete's being serious or joking but the possibly of him being gay only makes me even more excited. I finally manage a chocked
"I will" before we head back into town.

Notes

not a very long chapter but I think I want to bring mikey and Pete into the main story, it might make it more interesting.
also I might re-read my own story, I don't remember what happened in this story and I feel like im going off in the wrong direction.
any suggestions for the future would help.
