Hitman
Assignment
"Pete Wentz! Just the man I wanted to see!" My boss, Copeland, spun his chair to face me, "How's life been? How'd your side assignments go? I heard you almost got caught, good thing you got rid of the bodies eh?"
I rolled my eyes, he constantly drags on when he's giving me an assignment. "Copeland? Shut the fuck up and tell me who's next."
Copeland smirked and searched through his cabinet. He took out a file and slid it towards me, "Michael James Way. Goes by the name Mikey. 23 years old. Guy's a millionaire. Story says he got his money from his parents. You remember them? Don and Donna? They used to supply us with the goods."
I frowned, "what happened?"
Copeland dragged his finger across his neck, "Down-right murder. Suspicion was that the oldest son did it to get the money, but then the boy got into an...unfortunate accident. That's where this guy comes in. When fingers began being pointed, no one even looked his way. No pun intended. He got all their money and his network is growing. I need you to get rid of him. When you do, I can rise up as the boys' uncle and claim all the cash for the company. Capish?"
I opened the file and looked at the picture, "C'mon Cope, he's only a kid. Plus, why do I have to do it? Can't you get one of the girls to seduce the little bastard or something?"
Another smirk was plastered on Copeland's face, "There's our problem. Our female seduction methods...won't work in this case. Look Petey, you're good with the ladies, I'll give you that. But I'd say he's a little more up your alley."
I rolled my eyes again, "Enough with the roundabout gay jokes. What do I get out of this?"
"I'll give you his house. I know you hate your shitty apartment. And if you do this right, I'll pay your bills too."
I pondered this for a bit. A new house? And I wouldn't have to spend a dime on it. All I had to do was kill a guy. I've done it before, so why is this any different. I looked down at the picture again, "He's cute. I'll do it."
"Great!" Copeland snapped his fingers and a large guy in a white suit came in the room. "Pete, meet Antonio. Antonio, Pete. Give him the stuff."
Antonio held out a leather brief case. I carefully took it out of his hands and opened it. Inside was a handgun and some nicely tailored suits with matching dress shoes. "What the hell are these?" I asked.
Copeland smiled at me, "I landed you a job. In his office. From now on, you're 'John Davina, the secretary.' Have fun and don't fuck this up. You have 2 and 1/2 months starting tomorrow."
I looked from the suit to the file. This was going to be one hell of a mission.
