From Couple to Siblings
~Chapter 2~
I looked up after shaking his hand to be met with his absolutely breathtaking eyes. He had a round, pale face with full, light pink lips pinched together to keep the cigarette dangling in place. His hazel eyes were hidden behind small locks of messy red hair falling into his face.
I shyly looked down to the ground to see his worn Converse sneakers standing in front of my black combat boots. He was wearing black skinny jeans with rips at the knees, and a Nirvana t-shirt hanging loosely around his waist.
I'm not going to lie, he was hot...no..he was mother fucking hot. I shifted my weight nervously between my feet, my hand traveling up slowly to push a piece of my white hair back behind me ear.
"Do you have another smoke?" I asked quietly, trying to meet his gaze but avoid it at the same time.
"Sure kid." he half smiled, pulling a pack of Marlboro's from his pocket. He flipped the top back and held it out to me. Quickly slipping one out I pinched it between my lips and let him light it for me.
"So you said your name was Scarrlett?" He finally asked after dropping the butt of his own cigarette to the ground.
All I could do was nod. Fuck why was I so shy?
"That's a really pretty name." He smiled.
Holy shit his smile was gorgeous!
"How old are you Scarrlett?"
"I-I'm..17." I managed to force out.
"Hey, there's no need to be shy, I don't bite..unless you're into that." he smirked, pushing a lock of hair behind his ears. I took a deep mental breath and let myself chuckle lightly.
"I see you're wearing a Nirvana tee." I pointed out, gesturing to the ink on his shirt.
"Yeah...wait you know Nirvana?"
"Hell yeah. I don't live under a rock."
"Well I'm just saying most people around here wouldn't know good music if it beat them over the fucking head."
"Very true, but I've already had good music beat me over the head, so I'm all caught up."
"Hey, you're pretty funny, would you maybe wanna hang out tomorrow?.." Gerard asked as he nervously scratched the back of his neck.
"Well, I'm not doing anything now, would you maybe wanna go get some coffee?"
"Oh, sure!" he smiled.
"Great there's a little shop just up the block. They have like the best coffee in the world."
"You wouldn't be talking about Rocky Black Cafe...would you?" he asked as we began walking down the sidewalk.
"Actually yeah, that's the place. Have you been there?"
"Only like every morning!" replied Gerard matter-of-factly.
"Well, that's the only place that's even worth going in." I smiled. He simple nodded in agreement and we walked up the block silently.

"I'll have a hot chocolate." I said quietly to the waitress standing at the side of our table.
"Make mine a cappuccino." Gerard smiled before the woman nodded and quickly went off.
"So, are you still in school?" I asked, breaking silence.
"Nah, I dropped out my sophomore year. I would have graduated last year though."
"oh, well why'd you quit?"
"Nothing was interesting me, and I knew everything that I was being taught by then." he sighed. "But, don't take after me, I'm a terrible to take after."
"Don't worry, my father doesn't let me miss a day because I'm sick, if I told him I dropped out of school, I'd be dead where I stand."
"Yeah, frankly my father didn't give two shits and my mother was too scared to give two shits." Gerard sighed followed by an awkward silence. That is until our drinks were brought out.
"Y'know, I like the color of your hair. I've always wanted to go red but then another color catches my eye."
"Really. Hmm..I think the white actually suits you. It looks very very pretty." he smiled before taking from the white mug. I felt the heat swirl around my cheeks as I brought my own cup to my lips, taking a small sip.
"You look cute when you blush." Gerard smiled, only causing my face to burn more as the pink deepened.
"Oh shut up Gerard." I smirked, covering my cheeks with my hands.
"Please, call me Gee. Gerard sounds to formal to me."
"Well I like the name Gerard. I just hate my own name."
"Oh no, the name Scarrlett such a pretty name. And if fits you and your personality."
"See, I tried making it my own by spelling it different, but then it just kids stuck."
"How do you spell it?'
S-C-A-R-R-L-E-T-T." I recited.
"I like that." Gee smiled, placing his hand on top of the table with mine. As the conversation hit another awkward spot. I felt something warm land on my fingertips. Our of shock I tried pulling my hand away but Gerard only held it in his hand.
"Y'know. I'd like to stay in touch with you, but for now I hafta go." He smiled. Gerard pulled his hand away and slide out of the booth. He smiled at me one last time before he walked out the door and down the sidewalk.
I pulled my hand back and just now noticed the paper he left in my hand. I slowly unfolded it to find his phone number written across it.
I smiled to myself and got up from the table and went up to the counter to pay.
I walked out of the shop right as the sun was dipping down past the buildings and the clouds in the sky had orange and pink halos all around them. With a small smile I began walking home, only just now thinking how Dad might react to me being gong so long and without telling him.
I walked up the front steps and through the front door to see the house dark and empty. Peaking my head back outside I saw that his car was still here. With a sigh I walked back to the hallway and slowly opened his bedroom door to see him sleeping.
I quietly closed the door and walked back to my own bedroom. I plopped myself down onto my bed and pulled my phone from my pocket. I also took out the little piece of paper.
Opening up my contacts, I clicked the little plus sign in the corner and looked at the blank page. With a small smile I copied Gee's number into my phone and saved it.
"Hey Gee. It's Scarrlett." I typed, pushing the little send button while the smile was still on my face.
This. Was. The. Cutest. Chapter. And it was just asdfghjkl I can't even speak it was that cute. *standa up and claps*
