The Light Behind Her Eyes.

Once I get home, my mum is waiting at the door for me, "thanks Tori." I say with a smile, "good luck." she says before driving off. "Dylan Jones, get inside now!" My mother says angrily and I oblige, "hey Dylan, been hanging out with that idiot again?" Katie says with an evil look on her face, "Frank is not an idiot." I say through my teeth before heading to my room.

I shut the door and lay on my bed with a picture of Frank and I clutched to my chest, the picture was of us staring at a sunset, we edited it so we are silhouetted. I am the only one with a copy of this picture, Frank has one of us acting like goofs in a photo booth. "Dylan," my father says through the door, "what do you want dad?" I ask and he comes in my room.

"This Frank guy, Dylan you have to stop seeing him." My father says sitting down on my bed, "is what your mother would say, but Dylan. I can see it in his eyes how much he loves you," I look at him and he gives me one of his bear hugs, "spend some time away from him to keep your mum happy." I nod and he exits my room. I shut the door and break down crying, "Why can't they accept me?" I ask myself, later that night I finally exit my room to have dinner with the family. We aren't the type of family who has routine dinners so basically we have whatever dad cooks. Tonight he didn't feel like cooking so we have Chinese food.

"Mum can I go out tonight." My sister Katie asks, she has long brown hair and brown eyes just like my mum and dad. "Sure thing Katie." my mum says and Katie smiles, "dad can I go out tonight?" I ask and my mother frowns. "there is a carnival and I really want to go." I say and my dad smiles, "sure thing sweetie." he says and I kiss his cheek, "thank you!" I yell happily running down the hall to my room, I scan my closet for an outfit, I end up picking this. after I'm done getting ready I text Frank to meet me at the bus stop a few blocks up from my house. I kiss my mother and father good bye before heading out.
