“We’re on next,” Ray said, taking a deep exhale.

“I don’t think we can do it,” Mikey whispered. He held his bass so tight his knuckles were turning white.

“Mikey, it’s just a house party,” I said. I grabbed his shoulder. “Baby Mikey, you got this. You all have this.” I turned to each one of them. “Now go and let me get this crowd started for you.”

Each of one them left and positioned themselves in front of the crowd, which consisted of about three people. Frank stood in front of me, biting his lip ring.

“Come on, Frank. Don’t leave them waiting,” I chuckled.

“Danny, I’m just nervous. I’ll always be nervous before the start of every show,” Frank said.

“Don’t be, Frank. You know you’re more talented than anyone you or I ever met.”

“I haven’t met very many guitarists, Danny, and neither have you.” Frank rolled his eyes and began to walk away then I grabbed his shoulders.

“Frank, please.” I kissed on the cheek. “You are talented. You are amazing. You are… you are Frank fucking Iero. If you don’t perform like it’s the last day on Earth, I will personally make sure you will never see me naked.” I winked then kissed him on the lips so sensitively.

When I stopped, Frank pulled me back again and kissed me harder.

“Thank you,” he said, when he pulled away. Frank then walked to the rest of the guys.

They started their first song: Headfirst for Halos.
