Welcome to the Black Parade

Welcome to the Black Parade

The weirdest thing about all of this was that I never felt uncomfortable, which for me was really rare. The girl in the dress was still next to me. She slid her hand into mine as the blonde unwrapped a medal and placed it around my neck. I looked up at the remaining three; two were still concerting on playing this song, while one, with black hair and a guitar, looked down at us lovingly. I could have sworn he was looking at the blonde but then again, I had just imagined an entire world so I doubted my eyes at this point. I felt the medal settle on my chest as I looked the blonde in the face. He winked and continued singing this song, which everyone seemed to know. Before I had a chance to look at the medal, the light gray haired girl pulled me to the side of the path. The float continued and I quickly glance at the bronze medal around my neck. It was plain except for one sentence engraved into it, “Welcome to the Black Parade” in a simple font. It was then that it finally hit me. The Black Parade was real. This was the family I was meant to be with for eternity. This was the family that would save me, and this is where I would save others as well. I slipped into the crowd, happy to know that I had finally realized what I was mean to do with my life.

The afterlife is one of the most feared of things, but from what I've seen here, you're handling it a great deal better than a lot of published authors. Keep it up, you wondrous Brit!
