You're Beautiful To Me

Chapter Seventy Six

A few days later I feel more relaxed around Frank again and things are slowly going back to how they were. I'm currently in the kitchen feeding the kids dinner while Frank is at work, both of them sitting in their high chairs side by side and Anna feeds herself her mashed potatoes and pumpkin while I feed Miles some yoghurt and halfway through my phone starts ringing in the other room so I sit Miles' bowl down and quickly leave the room, answering the phone and finding out that it's Frank. I talk to him as I walk back into the kitchen and when I walk back in I burst out laughing at the sight I'm met with. Anna has taken it upon herself to feed her brother and she's leaning over sticking her spoon in his mouth, mashed potato and pumpkin smeared all over his face as he smacks his hand against the tray on his chair as he sucks the mash off her spoon. "Babe what's going on?" Frank interrupts and I tell him to hang on before quickly pulling the phone away from my ear and I snap a quick picture, sending it to him before putting the phone back to my ear and saying "Take a look at what I just walked back in on." Frank goes silent for a few seconds as I walk back over and take my seat beside Miles again and Frank starts to laugh too as he says "Wow, I can't believe how much they've grown up." "I know babe, especially little miss." As I say this Anna's attention turns to me, knowing I'm talking about her and Miles lets out an impatient squeal at the sudden lack of attention and food.

After I get off the phone with Frank I finish dinner time for the kids before I take them out of their chairs and into the bathroom, running them a bath before I undress them both and put them in the soapy water together. After Miles is washed I take him out and lay him on a towel on the floor, drying him off and redressing him while I keep an eye on Anna who is still splashing around with her rubber duck and once Miles is dressed I repeat the same with Anna while Miles sits there watching. "You're such a good boy" I praise him once Anna is dressed, happy he sat there content with watching while I was busy and I lean down to press a kiss to the top of his head. I stand Anna up, taking Miles on my hip as I stand up too and Anna wraps his hand around two of my fingers as we leave the room and while I fix them their bottles, getting them ready for bed I let them play in the living room. When I come in Anna has her favourite bedtime book in her hand, knowing the routine now and Miles is in the corner with his favourite plush dinosaur. I sit on the couch and Anna hands me the book before turning back to Miles and shouting "Come My" and I smile as his head snaps around to look over at her before his face breaks into a smile and he throws the dinosaur away as he flips over onto his hands and knees and he starts crawling over to us, Anna toddling back over to him and patting him on the head like a dog before walking beside him as they come over to me and Miles fists his hand in my jeans, trying to pull himself up so I lean down and help him, pulling him up into my lap as Anna climbs up beside me and I give her her bottle, putting Miles' to his mouth as he lays back in my arms and before he's even finished his milk his eyes slip closed and he falls asleep. I gently lay him down on the couch beside me before pulling Anna over into my lap and laying her back against my chest, picking up her book and as I start to read softly she points to Miles and says "My?" "Miles is sleeping baby girl" I tell her, pressing a soft kiss to the top of her head and she looks confused before turning her attention back to the story.

... that was so well written from start to finish <3 well done on finishing it so beautifully & thanks for making the whole plot so real! xoxo

I like the happy ending, but the sad ending fits more with the story. I will admit that the sad ending did make me cry.

I read both endings and as much as I wish it was happier, the sad ending fits best. I think it's too sudden for everything to just become happy and perfect again. It would have been nice to see a better outcome for Alice in the last one though.
