Rachel’s POV
After our sweet little exchange we decide to go out to the mall. We bring Mikey along to make it look less like a date. “Why is this whole creepy date thing happening” and in that moment I completely loose it laughing “what creepy date thing silly?” “Oh I don’t know the date I’m going on with my brother and my best friend who just so happens to be my brothers secret girlfriend”. And I really couldn’t dispute that when Mikey said it did sound hella creepy I look at Gee “he has a point that does sound creepy”. Gee chuckles taking my hand in his and kissing it. Mikey noticed the rings and starts to make a puking sound in the back seat. “Milky Way are you ok?” I completely thought he was actually not feeling well. And Gee rolls his eye “Michael stop that” I look all confused and Gerard explains “ he is making that sound at us” I *look back at Mikey with the puppy dog pout “ Mikey why would you do that ? What did I do?” Mikey starts to feel bad. And he apologizes “They are promise rings Mikey there called…………… shit baby what are they called” Gee said looking deep into my eyes “Claddagh Rings baby you pronounce it K L AH D - d uh” I giggle as I tell him and Mikey pipes up “ Oh those are Irish promise rings or engagement rings right Rachie?” I smile and nod “yes Mikey they are” the he scratches his head for a minuet “how are you guys going to explain those to Frank” which unfortunately reminds me of my dick of a big brother. Gee changes the subject quickly; he was always good at that I lay my head on his shoulder as we pull up to the mall. Mikey gets out of the car and Gerard comes around the car and opens the door for me and they help me out. We all hold hands gee gets my left hand which my ring is on and his ring is on his right I don’t really know why it’s just how it worked out. And Mikey gets my right hand and we all walk in together as me and my Milky Way sing “Follow the yellow brick road, follow the yellow brick road
Follow, follow, follow, follow, follow the yellow-brick road” and all Gee can do is shake his head “and I talk to you too why?” and we both try to act shocked; but in all reality we know we are complete nuts. Me and Mikey laugh, Gee looks at us and whispers in my ear “ no one will think you and I are together with how you and Mikey act” I giggle because I find it utterly adorable. Gerard excuses himself to go look in a game store. Mikey and I walk into hot topic and we start to fool around I’m trying things on and I find this one grey gothic graphic tube dress that hugs all of my curves ever so nicely “Rachie you need to get that it will drive Gee nuts” I giggle and find a cute pair of heels and I go up to the cashier and pay for the dress and the shoes. I put them on and put the other outfit I put in the hot topic bag and we walk out and walk straight into Emmett a boy from school that is kind of cute. We are standing there talking and Gerard walks out to see us talking and gets upset I don’t even see him let alone notice at first he was upset. And of course Frank shows up so Gee acts like he isn’t pissed and they start to talk. Emmett asked me on a date for tonight “One date couldn’t hurt but it will be at my house pizza and movie if that is okay with you”. Emmett nods Mikey giggles knowing that Gee won’t like it but we have to make it seem like Gee and I aren’t together. After Emmett and I finish our conversation; Mikey along with myself walk over to Frank and Gerard. “So another double date tonight?” Gee nods looking at me in the eyes. I let frank know I have a date that night which seems to upset Gee even more and frank dismisses himself to get back to heather. “What do you think baby?” I whisper to make sure Frank doesn’t here “eh it’s alright” I look confused at Gee then at Mikey. Gerard walks away from us and I look at Mikey “what the fuck is going on? Did I do something? He won’t even look at me” Mikey shrugs it off gives me a hug and we continue to walk. I and Mikey go into a few more stores I buy Gerard a lighter and a misfit’s hoodie and some other stuff just because I want to but he stays out side of the stores. As we go to leave and I just look down I have never felt so distant from gee he won’t even look at me. He gets in and I get in to the back with Mikey which seems to be the only time Gee looks at me. “Whatever then” is all he can say with such venomous distain it drips off his tongue which makes me cry and Mikey pulls me into him hiding my face “Hey Rachie do u want a Milky Way sleep over?” “That sounds great Mikey” as I breath deep not trying to sound like I’m not crying. Gee pulls up to my house and Mikey helps me out and we both go inside and Gee pulls off. “ We will make it a double date I just am not sure who I can get on short notice” as lizzie comes bouncing down the stairs “lizzie can u go on a date with Mikey for me ?” she looks at me completely behooved “sure?” “Ok we will have a pizza movie night here so it’s not completely unusual it will just kind of be like a date”. A couple of hours later there is a knock on the door. As I run upstairs “lizzie can you answer it” I put back on my other outfit minus the shoes and come back down stairs. “hey Emmett I hope u don’t mind Mikey and Lizzie are joining us” he smiles and in a higher tone then I’m used to “ yea that’s fine the more the merrier” we go into the living room and start looking at the movies as Frank, Heather, and Lexi come down the stairs and soon after there is another knock on the door “ Rachie get that” I roll my eyes and open the door and I see Gee there I bite my lip and step to the side to let him in and I don’t see the ring on his hand and I close my eyes instantly trying not to cry I close the door and go back into the living room “ so what do we want on our pizza?” “Meat lovers” Lizzie squeals excited “that really does sound good” is both boys response “ok I’ll go order u guys pick the movie; oh do you guys want a drink?” everyone nods so I walk into the kitchen as I pick up my cell to order the pizza I hear the door close. I dial and order the pizza after hearing the person who answered tell me the total and how it would be a half hour to forty five minutes I hang up the phone go to the fridge and grab 4 sodas and I walk back into the living room and hands the sodas out “ What movie did you pick?” Lizzie looks up “ Emmett picked cruel intentions he has never seen it” I nod and I sit on the couch with them next to Emmett and all I can do is wish it was Gerard who puts his arm around me and it doesn’t feel right but thankfully the doorbell rings for the pizza I couldn’t believe that so much time had passed. I go and grab both pizzas and walk to the kitchen to grab more sodas and paper plates when they walk in “We paused the movie” Emmett says with a cute smile. We pig out on pizza and pop and go back into the living room and finish the movie. He looks at his phone “oh wow I have to go curfew” he gives me an awkward laugh and I giggle. I get up and walk him out and as we get to the side walk he gives me a kiss and I just stand there wishing and hoping it was Gerard but he didn’t notice we said farewell and he walks home. I walk back into the house to Lizzie and Mikey say in unison “well that was awkward” I nod and Lizzie runs up stairs and comes down with nail polish “let me paint your toe nails please?” I agree and she giggles and Mikey cuddles with us on the couch as Lizzie paints my nails this teal color. And we all have our normal odd ball conversation as my toe nails dry and she paints my fingers this bright neon green color. And we joke and laugh; then I hear them come back I look up at the clock and it says 1:55 AM I shake my head lizzie and Mikey and I walk up to my room and sit on my bed. “I don’t know what to do….. I mean he fucking took off the ring...What’s that supposed to say to me?” With tears in my eyes as I speak to them both hug me just then my phone lights up and I look at it. I had gotten a text right before Emmett had gotten here. It read:
Pumpkin pie: I think we need to talk….. This may not be working out –Gee
As I read this I get pissed. “OH HELL NO….. IT’S NOT GOING DOWN LIKE THIS” so it text him back:
Mermaid: where do you want to meet?
A few minutes pass and I get the reply
Pumpkin pie: Cemetery Drive in a half an hour
Mermaid: OK I will see you there
“You guys will cover for me if I need it right?” they nod. So I change into the dress I bought for him. I fix my hair and my make-up and it took about twenty minutes so I grab my heels and put my rope ladder out my window and I climb down as Lizzie and Mikey watch as I turn to my right put on my heels and walk the 5 blocks to Cemetery Drive the local cemetery. I walk through the gates looking for gee and I find him where we first suck out to be together leaning against the big oak tree in front of the most beautiful mausoleum. “What is going on?” my tone was a little angrier then I planned. “Things aren’t working out” I start to get angrier “What are you trying to say……be a man SAY IT”. the tears well up in my eyes “ We …….I………… It’s not working” I push him “ if you don’t fucking love me then say it don’t fucking play with my emotions” he is mad at this point “ IF I COULD I WOULD BUT I CAN’T BECAUSE I STILL LOVE YOU” “THEN WHAT THE FUCK IS IT” “ YOU FLAUNTED THAT JOCK ASSHOLE IN MY FACE” “ DON’T FUCKING PULL THAT SHIT YOU FLAUNTED LEXI IN MY FACE BUT I STILL WANT YOU AND ONLY YOU. ALL I COULD FUCKING THINK ABOUT ON THAT DATE WAS YOU. HOW I WISH IT WAS YOU CUDDELING ME ; HOW I WISH IT WAS YOU WHO WOULD LOOK AT ME AND TELL ME HOW BEAUTIFUL I LOOKED. FUCK GERARD I BOUGHT THIS FUCKING DRESS THINKING YOU WOULD LIKE IT BUT YOU HAVE BEEN NOTHING BUT AN ASS TO ME SINCE THEN SO WHAT THE FUCK”. And at this point his eye widened “you bought that dress for me ? I thought u bought it for other guys so they would think you were sexy” I shook my head sometimes he can be so dumb “why would you think that? The only man I want to think I’m sexy is you Gerard. But I won’t make a man want me that don’t. But if you don’t love me or want me anymore you better fucking have the balls to tell me so” he fell silent and looked down “You can tell me that now can you?” He shook his head “THEN WHY THE FUCK DID YOU TAKE OFF YOUR RING. I STILL HAVE MINE ON BECAUSE I WANT US I WANT YOU GOD DAMN IT GERARD I WANT YOU”. “It’s in my car hanging from the rearview mirror”. I start to walk towards the mausoleum. He follows me “Rachel………….. Why did you go out on a date tonight?” I start to cry “ so Frank didn’t know we are together I didn’t even want to do it but how else are we supposed to do this ?” and I sit down on the mausoleum floor and that’s when I see the bottles of jack, Jim, And Jose and numerous bottles of vodka all over the floor and I look into his eyes in the moonlight and his eyes are blood shot and I smell the alcohol on him “ Gerard are you drunk?” he chuckles” only a little” as he finishes the bottle jack in his hand in his hand and he drops the bottle on the ground. I stand up “look me in the eyes Gerard please?” and he stagers up to me and I have to catch him before he hits the ground. “Gerard why would you do this?” “I’m losing the only thing I care about so why not fuck everything else up” which takes a minute for me to understand because it was muffled. I start to tear up “Gee who are you losing?” he looks up at me completely sloshed “the love of my life……. You baby” I grab the bottle of vodka I see unopened. I open the bottle and start to chug it as much as I can holding gee in my arms as tight as I can “you’re not losing me not now; not ever I love you u idiot why don’t you get that”. I finish the bottle and open the other one “Baby what are you doing?” He sees me drinking heavily “I’m joining you; honestly I wish I would have been drunk during my date”. “I’m always drunk around you baby you intoxinate me” I know Gee is trying to say I intoxicate him but he is also too drunk to pronounce anything right. “Come here …………….baby” Motions me as he grabs the bottles he also pushes the mausoleum door open and I grab the other bottles and I walk in. there in the middle of the mausoleum is a bed like 1 box spring and like 2-3 mattress. “ this is my escape, my safe haven if you will” as he hiccups and I crack another bottle open I start to drink the next bottle but something catches my eye a pair of shiny pink panties. “Gee who else did you bring here?” “no one baby why you ask” “because those pink panties aren’t mine Gee” I get mad that I chug 3 more bottles of vodka and as I try to walk out Gee grabs me “please don’t leave me they are Lexi’s we had sex but it meant nothing” then tears have welled up to far and they proceed to run down my face like a coursing river. “I THOUGHT THIS WAS JUST SO FRANK DIDN’T FIND OUT GEE WTF HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME….. THIS MENT NOTHING TO YOU SO DID EVERYTIME WE HAD SEX DID THAT MEAN NOTHING TO?IS THAT WHAT YOU ALWAYS WANT ME FOR??” I was so furious at this time all I could do is yell and cry. I was so drunk and he was so drunk; part of me wanted to hit him the other wanted to fuck his brains out and another part of me wanted to crawl into a ball and die. He slowly walks towards me and pulls me close “ I’m sorry baby please forgive me if need be I will never see Lexi again and we can tell frank that he can fuck off that we love each other and we are going to be together” I have no idea what to say “ was she better than me ?” He shook his head “swear to me this will never happen again because this kills me”. I hate how desperate I sound and how utterly crushed this has made me. He is stumbling towards the bed and he is pulling me with him “stay with me don’t leave me no one matters to me anymore no body except you”. I can see the pain in his eyes he rolls onto his side looking into my eyes and he pulls me in and attacks my lips with his own which I didn’t mind. I kissed him with all the passion I could muster up in my drunken person. As we slowly start to pass out I hear Gee mumble something. “What?” “Will you mercy me” “wait what?” “Will you marry me?” I get up from the bed open the door and with one word I answer “No”.
