Action Cat
You Better Run Like The Devil Cause They're Never Gonna Leave You Alone
Gerard searched helplessly around himself, questioning the absence of bullies that normally surrounded him. The hallways were clear, and the classrooms were locked securely. There was nothing out to get him.
When was the last time he had sat next to people? In class, he sat in the very back, alone with no one to speak to. He started to wonder if anyone had finally stood up to his enemies. Someone tall, thick, and warmhearted must have given a flare of kindness and stood up.
Perhaps not. Maybe it was a short, well respected misfit that took the time to give an end to all his misery. Maybe it was Frank.
Gerard passed the hallways and into the storage closet, opening the back door and exiting the school. He found a clear spot in the grass and laid his head, facing the glaring sun. Why had Frank risked his whole reputation to a--what was it called again?--pariah like him? There was nothing worth saving. He rolled his sleeves, the scars on his arms burning in the light.
"N-n-nothing w-worth suh-saving," he mumbled, picking at his cuts with his fingernails.
Frank's parents were divorced, he knew. It must have been so hard for him, taking sides on the ones he loved. How could Frank deal with this, how was he so strong?
Survival of the fittest. Frank was meant to be here, meant to face everything and keep on going. But Gerard wasn't like Frank.
He remembered when he first met Frank back then in the day. The first time someone stood up for him, back when he was being transferred to his first foster family. Did Frank remember that?
Or was it all just a faded memory.
