Until It's Gone
Frank searched for Gerard helplessly. There was no sign of him anywhere. So, of course, he ditched. Frank sighed and reached for his bag, heading towards the Way household.
He didn't want to seem like a stalker, but he sincerely cared for Gerard. What if he was in danger? In New Jersey, murderers could be by every corner. Burglars attended their school. Nothing was safe.
Frank hesitantly knocked the door. No answer. "Time to use those skills," he mumbled, picking at the lock with his fingernails. The door creaked and was left ajar as Frank ventured up the aged home. He stepped up the stairs with ease and stood by Gerard's door.
Be polite. Frank knocked.
"G-g-get o-out R-ray," Gerard murmured, sniffling. "J-just g-g-go."
Frank stepped inside, and stared quizzically at Gerard. He was lying upside down from the side of his bed, his hair hanging and touching the bare floor. Gerard remained unaffected by Frank's entering. "Hey, Gerard," Frank smiled sympathetically. "Do you want to talk or..?"
"T-tell m-m-me a-about y-you," Gerard half-grinned. "Y-yeah."
"I like all the things you like," Frank replied. "We're very alike."
He shook his head. "N-n-no, l-like, um, your l-life. I-it's s-s-so m-much d-d-diff'rnt t-than m-mine."
"Oh. My parents are divorced, they've been since the dawn of time," Frank chuckled. "Also, I used to get made fun of for being bisexual. Like I wasn't one or the other, you know? I wasn't red or blue, I was purple, if that makes sense."
Gerard smiled again. "D-d-don't l-listen t-t-to th-them. You a-are b-b-beautiful."
"Thanks," Frank said, and felt his cheeks going hot. "How about you?"
"I-I'm f-fine."
"Then why were you crying?" He reached for Gerard's arm, but he pulled away.
"Must be hormones or shit like that," Gerard lied.
