Get busy living or get busy dying

Gerard drove and I sat between Mikey and Jamia while they explained everything to me. It had started five years before then, when Gerard graduated and Mikey did too because he qualified to early. Helena was dying and they were running out of money for treatment. Gerard had been making money selling his cartoons to newspapers and magazines, but it was never enough. They started selling drugs: weed, Xanax, Prozac, anything they could get their hands on. When Helena died they couldn't stop;they'd started dealing with some dangerous people and couldn't get out. Gerard started using and became addicted. everything went downhill when the cops found them. So, they left Jersey and came to Pennsylvania. Then they met me. The police had been tipped off by someone though, they were looking for them again.
