Hey Mr. Way

'' Well, uh, they found your mum, '' Gerard said, '' she's waiting for you back at your house. ''
A grin spread across my face, I can't even describe the feeling but I was so fucking happy that she was okay and safe.
'' So I'm gonna take you back there now, she's desperate to see you Frankie, '' Gerard smiled before adding, '' go pack up your stuff. ''
I rushed around shoving all my stuff in my bag and I was ready in 3 minutes flat. We drove straight there, and it was only when it was time for me to get out of the car that it hit me. I'm not even going to be living with Gerard anymore. I mean, don't get me wrong, of course I wanna be with my mum, but there's a part of me that wants to stay with Gee forever. He looked upset that I was leaving, too.
'' Gee, I...I'm sorry- ''
'' No Frankie don't even start that, I'm okay, we're still going to see eachother at school, '' Gerard said, smiling. Still, I could tell it was fake, and that he was trying to hold back tears. Gerard got out of the car with me to meet my mum. Apparently, he'd already explained everything to her over the phone, and she was fine with it, she didn't know about me and Gee as a couple, and everything was okay. I guess.
'' Mum! '' I yelled, running down the path and jumping onto her, almost knocking her backwards.
'' Oh Frankie, baby I missed you! '' she whispered into my shoulder as she hugged me tightly. We stayed like that for a couple of seconds then I remembered Gerard was stood there and I thought how awkward he must be feeling. I jumped down from hanging off my mum.
'' Mum, this is G- ''
'' Mr. Way, and nice to meet you too Mrs. Iero..Miss..uh..'' Gerard said, well at first he cut infront of me to save me from calling him Gerard, and then he just went downhill, not really knowing what to call my mum back.
Luckily she just chuckled at him and said, '' well I haven't technically divorced him yet so it's still legally Mrs. Iero, for now at least...''
They went on talking while I stood there kind of awkwardly, not really knowing what to say. Then they stopped talking and said goodbye.
'' Bye Frank, '' Gerard said, I noticed his voice crack as he said it.
'' Uh, bye Mr. Way...I'll uh see you at school tomorrow seeing as I have art...'' I said, '' oh and thanks for letting me crash at your place. ''
He chuckled at me and said bye to me again and my mum, then left.
Me and my mum just talked all evening and she told me where she'd been and how she found out that dad had been arrested and her journey back was so terrible and it took forever, and how much she missed me the whole time.
'' I missed you too mum, '' I said, '' you do realise that social services were looking for you this whole time, and the reason I'm all safe and well was that Mr. Way looked after me so well and got everything sorted out for me. ''
'' I know and I'm so grateful of him for it so when you go to school, I want you to take him this money to say thank you, '' she said, handing me about £200 or something.
'' Mum! You know he'll never accept this! '' I said.
'' Yeah but you have to try at least, '' she said. I sighed and knew that was true.
Then, even though it was only about half eight, I went to bed because I was so exhausted from my day. I texted Gerard: Night night cya school tomorrow <3 xxxx
I sent the text and couldn't even stay awake to wait for a reply because I was that tired.
