Hey Mr. Way

I woke up the next morning and rolled over, expecting Gerard to be led there but instead the bed was cold and empty. I sat up slowly and looked over to the clock to find it was 10am.
'' Gerard? '' I called, before reaching over to the bedside table and picking up my phone. I found out I had a missed call and three missed texts, all from my mum.
Mum: Morning Frank, do you have a time you're coming back yet?
Mum: Frank?
Mum: Why aren't you answering my texts or calls?
I sighed and pulled the cover off me, calling Gerard's name again and expecting no reply.
'' In the kitchen babe, '' Gerard's voice called back. I smiled to myself when I opened the door and smelt coffee.
'' Morning my baby, how are you? '' Gerard smiled. I rubbed my eyes and smiled, before saying ''I'm good, but you know what I really really want? '' a slight smile was playing on my lips.
'' What babe? ''
'' A kiss? ''
'' What? I made you coffee and now I'm making pancakes and you ask for a kiss too? '' he faked annoyance before cracking a smile and saying, ''sure babe.''
He put the whisk and the bowl of pancake mixture down and walked over to me, wrapping his arms around my waist and pressing his lips against mine, and I kissed back slowly, tasting Gerard's coffee on his lips.
'' Sweetie...'' he said slowly against my lips. I pulled away reluctantly to speak.
'' Yeah? ''
'' Well uh, I hope you don't mind but is it okay if I take you back home after we've eaten because I have a shit ton of marking to do and I'm sure your mum wants you back home so she can spend some time with you this weekend, too. ''
'' Yeah, that's fine. ''
I was slightly disappointed that our weekend was almost over. I think Gerard could see that I was too.
'' Maybe if you eat quickly I can give you one last treat? '' he winked. I giggled and nodded, before sitting down at the table with my coffee and watching Gerard cook pancakes. He also had honey and maple syrup and butter and chocolate spread, and lemon and sugar too for toppings. He gave me a plate with two pancakes on, telling me that if I wanted anymore he'd make some. I looked between all the different toppings, trying to decide which one I wanted.
'' Personally, my favourite is honey, '' Gerard smirked a little. I watched him reach for the honey before hesitating and saying, '' but let's save that for another time. ''
