Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back

My shoulder slouched, "No...you were just behind us! There's no way-"
"Frank, the tunnel's exits are just on the side of the building. It takes an easy five minute walk." Patrick frowned, "Don't worry, I know I came off as a bad guy but I'm not." Patrick pulled out a bag and pulled out clothes, "Here." He handed them out to me.
Gerard and I stared at him.
He said, "What an amazing turn of events, huh?" He chuckled but seriously said, "I had to follow Dr. Laguna and my other bosses. I was trying to help you escape if you came to that "private session" that I mentioned before. When you didn't show up, I checked your room and realized Dr. Laguna got to you first." He looked at Gerard, "And dragged you into it." He added, "Frank, you don't belong here. And Gerard, you've been here for too long. Here," he placed the folded clothing in front of me. He then reached in his bag and pulled out two bottles of pills, "These are for both of you. It's your prescription pills. Oh, and this too," he reached in his bag and pulled out a file, "It's the address where Gerard's brother is living at..." He placed them by me and smiled, "Some staff and I found Dr. Laguna's body but I made sure I came alone here. I assure you you're safe for now."
Gerard swallowed, "For now? What is that supposed to mean?"
Patrick frowned, "If the press finds out that two patients of ours escaped and killed Dr. Laguna, police are going to stop at nothing to find and trial you two for murder."
"No, no, I killed Dr. Laguna, Gerard had nothing to do with it." I said.
Patrick frowned, "He's an accomplice...and so am I. I'm letting you two free, so I could be facing jail time too." he added, "You have to go now. And please don't cause anymore trouble."
