You're Not In This Alone

GERARD'S POV

Frank and I head home after I call Ruby and tell her where we are, stopping by the hotel on our way to get my stuff and check out. Once we get there Frank takes me into the bedroom and lays me down on the bed, climbing on next to me and pulling me into his arms, kissing me as he crushes me to his chest. "Love you so fucking much" he murmurs against my lips and I sigh, melting into him and kissing back just as desperately. When we break apart I bury my face in his neck, closing my eyes and relaxing completely and before long I feel myself falling asleep.

"Baby come on" I plead, reaching out to grab his hand. "Don't fucking touch me. How could you do this to us Gerard? "Babe Id do anything to protect you and Ruby, anything at all and I thought you would understand." "Understand that I don't even know who you are anymore? I don't trust you Gerard, I don't even want to be around you anymore." "Dont say that, you don't mean it" I plead, tears burning my eyes. "I do Gerard, you're fucking scaring me and I don't think we should be together anymore." I stand there in shock, feeling my heart crack at his words. "Frankie" I whimper and he shakes his head. "You should pack your stuff and go" he tells me, his voice emotionless and I sniff back the tears that desperately want to fall as I walk past him, going into our bedroom and grabbing a bag, packing clothes before coming back out, unable to see properly through the tears. "Frankie" I plead once more and he turns his back to me. I let out a choked off sob as I walk down the hall towards the front door, Ruby standing in the door of the living room crying, having listened to us yell at each other for the last forty minutes. "Daddy don't go" she begs and my tears get heavier. "Baby girl I..." I start, wrapping my arms around her. "Get out" Frank yells and I sniffle as we pull apart and Ruby screams "I fucking hate you" at Frank, shoving past him as she runs down the hall and slams her bedroom door shut. I take a deep breath before picking up my bag again and walking out the door, feeling my whole world crashing down around me.
I wake up panting for breath, my head spinning as I realise that I'm not reliving the fight again and that it's just a dream. I look over to see Frank laying beside me frowning as he says "Are you alright baby?" "Tell me you didn't mean it" I beg and he looks confused. "All the things you said, tell me you didn't mean it." "Oh baby of course I didn't mean it. I'm so sorry I ever said any of those horrible things to you." I feel my bottom lip quiver and Frank reaches out to touch my cheek. "Don't cry baby" he says softly and I push into his hand, letting my eyes slip closed as I calm myself down. "Where's Ruby?" I ask when I reopen them. "In the living room watching a movie with Ryan." "Really?" I ask and he smiles and says "Yeah, she kept shooting me filthy looks so I figured I wasn't welcome out there anymore so I can back in here." I laugh before saying "Of course you would try to hang out with them." "Hey, I'm just being a responsible dad." We smile wide at each other before I say "I'm starving, pizza?" Frank leans in and kisses me on the end of the nose. "It's like you can read my mind" he tells me before getting up and helping me off the bed. Frank goes into the kitchen while I go to the living room to see what Ruby and Ryan want but when I step in I see them curled up together on the couch, Ryan's arm around her waist as her head rests on his shoulder, her eyes closed. "Is she asleep?" I ask softly and Ryan looks up and smiles as he nods.
