The Light Behind His Eyes

Chapter Eleven

Remember how I said that I liked working in a peaceful place? This was defiantly it. People walked in, picked out a book to rent, bought a mug of coffee, and sat down. Most just bought coffee, but it's perfect because it's making make money either way. It was closing time, so I couldn't wait to take Frank out. He was stacking up the chairs while I grabbed my coat. I smiled at him, "The movie starts in thirty minutes,"
Frank grinned, his eyes focused on piling up the chairs, "Well, alright. I'm actually kind of excited."
I walked over to him, "But of course you are. You're going on a date with me."
"it's not a date, dummy." He laughed.
I pouted, "But Frankie, I'm buying your ticket."
He laughed, "That's sweet but I'm capable of buying my own."
I leaned into him, "Can I at least get a kiss for effort?" I licked my lips slowly. He stared, but laughed before playfully hitting my shoulder. He grabbed his jacket, "Let's go, Mr. Seductive."
We locked the doors before walking down the sidewalk. Frank's dark black hair shone under the moonlight. He was glowing, making him more attractive than ever. I smiled, "So, I won't at least get one kiss out of this whole night? Or take you home with me?"
Frank shrugged, "You might." He winked.
My cheeks flustered. I sighed, "Where have you been all my life, Frankie?"
Frank smirked, "That nickname is sudden."
I chuckled, "You don't like it? I do."
"You should get a nickname too."
"Nah, Gerard is perf."
"Gee."
"What?"
Frank smiled, "Gee. That's your nickname."
I laughed, "Alright, fine."
We walked across the empty street, coming face to face with the old theater. Frank and I were going to watch a drama film, "Red Dress". It was about a father moving to Paris with his daughter to escape the memory of the deceased wife/mother. He gets involved with a drug cartel only to fall for a woman who got him involved in it. When a package of drugs gets accidently run over by a truck under his responsibility, the drug dealers are after him. But of course, they use the woman he fell in love with as a lure-yada, yada. It sounds absolutely amazing, so I thought Frank would enjoy it too.
I bought our tickets when Frank was distracted by reading the summary. I grabbed his arm and led him inside.
"Wait, I didn't buy-"
"Done." I handed him a ticket.
Frank rolled his eyes with a grin, "I can't believe you."
I laughed as we took our seats. Frank and I sat in middle row, the perfect view of the screen. When it started, I already has goosebumps. Towards the middle, I was on edge of my seat, and at the end, I cried. Really hard. But ah! I wasn't the only one. Frank cried too, we basically cried together.
Frank wiped his eyes, "Let's go. I can't stand sitting in these uncomfortable seats anymore." I snatched my drink and we walked out of the theater, fully satisfied.
All in all, it was a good movie-except for the sneezing guy next to me. Disgusting.
I took several sips of my drink as Frank commented on the movie, "I just can't believe that happened!" He said. I smiled, admiring his thoughts on the movie.
Frank stopped, "It was great night, Gerard..." He took a step closer.
This was it. Yes, finally!
I put my drink down on the closest table I could find before facing him. He leaned in, I leaned in. I get to feel his lips another time. I get to press mine against his again-I let out a huge sneeze. And just in time, Frank moved out the way. I wiped my runny nose, "No fucking way in hell! I wasn't even close to that disgusting man! I moved to another seat!"
Frank scringed his nose in thought. He walked over to my drink, he inspected it. "Wait," he said, "Didn't you order a sprite?"
God, no, please.
Frank added, "Gerard, this is a dark drink...that disgusting man who had the cold had this drink."
I squeeled, "And I drank out of it? Ew." I sneezed again, "god fucking dammit. I have a weak immune system..."
Frankie smiled softly, "I'll walk you home and make you some soup."
Bad news: I have a cold, so I refuse to kiss Frankie.
Good news: I took him home with me and he slept over again.
