Everything Will Be OK

***Taylor’s POV***
I pounded on the closet door one last time until I finally just gave up. There’s was no way she would let me out if she had not already. My stomach grumbled loudly as I had not eaten the past few days for that’s how long I’ve been stuck in this cramped closet. I slumped back down in my original position as I began to cry. It was hopeless at this point. Unless if my stepmother were to let me out for some odd reason, then I was bound to die in here from starvation. The worst part of this whole situation is that the love of my life, Gerard, wouldn’t even come back for me. I mean why would he? He never loved me in the first place…More and more tears rolled down my face as I thought back to all the memories we had together, like our first date…even our first time…But he didn’t care about any of that. If he did actually care about me, I wouldn’t be stuck here in the first place. For all I know he could be hooking up with some other student that was desperate enough. I mentally slapped myself for thinking of how stupid I could have been to fall for him.

As I began to doze off for the second time today, I was immediately startled by the sound of my stepmother yelling. What the fuck was she yelling at? My questions were then answered when I heard a male voice yelling back at her. I held my ear close to the door to comprehend what they were saying. “How could you do this to me?” The man screamed. I then began to recognize who it was. It was my dad. But it couldn’t be…he was dead, right? Well that’s what my stepmother told me. I then continued to listen closer. “I was in a fucking coma Sheila! You cheated on me when I was in a goddamn coma!” He yelled. Yep it was definitely my dad. “I didn’t t-think you would m-make it out.” I heard my stepmother say through the closet door. “Bullshit! You even slept with him when I left for the business trip after I was checked out of the hospital!” I then began to hear my stepmother sobbing. “I’m fucking done with your shit Sheila! Get Taylor for me and get out of me house!” I kept quiet as I continued to eavesdrop. “I-I don’t know where she is.” Sheila spoke between sobs. “What the hell is that supposed to mean? Where the fuck is my daughter?” I had never heard my father yell at her this much so it was pretty entertaining. “I told you I don’t know where she is.” I knew this was finally my chance. Since my dad was now looking for me, all I had to do was make noise for him to find me. With my fist, I banged hard on the door and began to yell. “Help. Dad. I’m in here!” I screamed. “What is that?” I heard my dad ask followed by several loud footsteps coming towards the closet. I was met with a rush of fresh air as my dad had swung open the door to where I was locked in. “Taylor! What the hell are you doing in the closet?” I immediately pointed towards my stepmother. She locked me in here!” Her face turned white. “N-no I” My dad cut her off. “I want you out of here! “He demanded. She stood frozen. I said get out or I’m calling the cops! “With that she sped out as we locked the front door so she couldn’t come back in again. My father then looked back down at me with tears in his eyes. “Oh Taylor I’m so sorry I let this happen to you.” He sniffled. “It’s not your fault…I’m just glad she’s gone.” He then brought me into a hug. “Me too Taylor…me too…”
