Everything Will Be OK

***Gerard’s POV***
I woke up on my couch with my head pounding in pain.The sun shone through my living room window, reminding me that it was finally morning. I glanced over at my watch. Shit, I’m going to be late to work! I forced myself up and ran up to my bedroom. I went to wash my face in the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. God I looked and felt horrible. My eyes were bloodshot and I still had vomit stains all over the front of my shirt. Ugh why did I have to get drunk last night? I’ve been clean for so many years, till now. For some reason I don’t remember much that happened last night. I don’t even remember why I got drunk in the first place, or who even drove me home. I found a clean shirt in my drawer and some dark skinny jeans. I threw the shirt over my head and squeezed on my jeans.

“Hey Gerard, I didn’t know u were still here. I thought you already left for school.”I looked back to see my younger brother, Mikey, standing in my bedroom doorway.”Oh, um yeah I just woke up late that’s all.”He gave me a worried look.”Gerard are you ok? You look like shit.” My head pounded harder at hearing his voice. This is probably one of the worst hangovers I’ve ever had. “Yeah, don’t worry about me I’m fine.”I picked up my bag that contained all my paperwork and quickly hurried down the stairs with Mikey following behind me. I took a sip of my coffee and swallowed an Advil, hoping that the headache would go away soon.”Do you want a ride to school, since were both going there anyway?” I asked him. He shook his head.”Oh, no it’s fine. I’m going to stick around here for a little bit, so I will just walk to school.”I could tell he was worried about me by the way he looked and talked to me. Sometimes I feel like Mikey is more of an older brother to me than I am to him.”Ok, well I will see you later.”I waved goodbye to him, grabbed my car keys, and drove off to school.
